spa visit in early pregnancy

My dh gave me a spa visit for my christmas present. It's booked in for this sunday, baby sitting arranged and so on. Now, I just found out that I'm pregnant today and I feel a bit worried about the spa visit. I know that some treatments are considered not good during the first trimester but I have no clue as to which. I'm down for a facial, scalp massage, back massage and an exfoliating treatment with lavender and teatree oil.

I'm going to ragdale hall so I'll call them tomorrow and explain, but does anyone know if they are likely to be willing to change any unsuitable treatments for others that would be ok? We don't really have much money left over so I couldn't spend much extra. I'm really looking forward to going but of course I don't want to do anything that might harm the baby.

they should change over - I had same problem with spa treatment I booked before I was pregnant.

Call them tomorrow. Most massage therapists won't perform massage in the first trimester of pregnancy ( sorry not what you want to hear!). Facial should be fine. They'll be able to tell you whether the exfoliating treatment is suitable. Not sure if you can have steam / sauna etc in first trimester, either. eek!

The same thing happened to me with my first pregnancy. Was only about 5 weeks pg when I went for some spa treatments (also a christmas present from DH!) and they were fine about changing treatments - I think that most places would be. They wouldn't give me a body massage but I had a very long facial instead and they changed the oils etc to suit pregnancy. Wouldn't let me use sauna, steam room or jacuzzi (couldn't even dangle legs in apparently) .
Hope you have a lovely relaxing time, and congratulations .

You lucky thing, ragdale hall is fantastic have you been before.
I know they offer ante-natal packages as I saw them advertised when i went.

There will be a lot you cant have but there will be some you can have too.

Ring them asap because the spa timetable is really busy

have an amazing time
