I think as long as there is no history of peanut allergies in the family its ok

Major trial underway to see if it matters. Meanwhile government advice is still not to eat them.

Add some probiotics to your diet to protect against the risk of allergy as there is some evidence that helps.

There was some new advice a few months ago. But when I was PG with DD 2 years ago (just!) I was advised not to eat them as I have allergies, hayfever and excema. As I am still BFing I don't eat them now either. Two years of no Peanut Butter on toast is a killer

The new research seemed to suggest that some exposure is a good thing but I would ask your Midwife for current DOH guidelines.

Thanks, i def don't have any peanut allergies in my family and only have one member that has exzema, apart from that we are ally allergy free! I just keep looking at the packet of KP's but feel guilty incase my baby has terrible allergies when born. Might just have to stick it out for the next 18 wks without them.

my ds has a peanut allergy-no family history and I avoided all nuts in pregnancy as was the advice at the time.

i sometimes forgot i was preg in the early stages went to bingo one night and ate some peanut m&ms all night then realised i was eating peanuts . so i dont think it really matters.every time i get preg its different rules of do's and don'ts so if i fancy it i will eat it same as soft cheese i had a craving of soft cheese and crisps for a while but was told that soft cheese could harm.

With my first the advice was only avoid them if family history of allergies which there isn't in my case. I didn't eat alot but didn't avoid them completely whilst pg or bf and my lo hasnt got any allergies. Now the curent advice I think is to avoid them completely but I won't, as it was fine last time. I have heard that there is new research out that avoiding them completely can lead to allergies. I have had a bit of soft cheese and a runny egg on xmas day but only because I forgot lol. Think I'm alot more relaxed about it this time around.
