Hey guys,
I got a very unexpected positive on Sunday and still trying to get my head around it all, deep down I’m happy but life is going to change so much.
This will be baby number 3 although my other two children are 13 and 11 so a fairly big gap. This will be first child with my partner we’ve been together almost 5yrs. I’m 35 and suffered a miscarriage last June at 11 weeks which absolutely broke us. Since then other half had been put on testosterone treatment so was told that there will be very little chances of conceiving naturally so we kind of wrote baby making off to concentrate on other half getting on top of health issues… but here we are feeling rather shell shocked, excited and scared altogether. Would be nice to chat to some other mumma’s due around the same time too xx

Congratulations @Ellen86Mat 🥳 I unexpectedly got my bfp on Sunday too (very early). 2nd baby and totally the same as you, shell-shocked, excited and nervous. My DD is 10 months so nervous about 2 under 2.

All going well baby will be due at the end of September xx

Congratulations, I also got a very unexpected positive on Friday. And my daughter is 14 in Feb and my son just turned 5 in January. I was being tested for endometriosis and I hadn’t had a period since October so I had just thought it wasn’t going to happen but yet here we are.

I’m so excited and just want to tell everyone. I’ve got my first midwife appointment on the 25th feb and we’re booking an early scan for the week before that to make sure everything’s as it should be, so we can at least tell the kids x

Hi @Ellen86Mat I tested positive yesterday. I think I'm around 3 weeks pregnant. It's the first time I've been pregnant. I phoned the doctors this morning and I'm on a wait list for a call from a midwife and I might not get a call for another 6 weeks. It feels a bit odd being left to crack on with it without seeing anyone. Can anyone recommend any good books that talk you through the whole pregnancy?

Hi @nettersrunboulder86 I'm currently 5 weeks pregnant with my first. I saw my Gp early this week also waiting for midwife to get in touch and set up an appointment, which I was told will take approximately 2 weeks to hear back. I think the aim is to see you before 10 weeks for first appointment. I started reading The Modern Midwife's Guide to Pregnancy, Birth and Beyond by Marie Louise. I'm around half way through the book and so far I find it very informative and full of practical info for example your pregnancy journey with NHS, what to expect from your midwife and basically prepare you on how to be a parent rather than a patient during your journey. So much to learn !!
