I’ve read online today that the risk of premature labour increases if you have a family history of it. I’m a FTM and so nervous now as my mum had all 3 of us kids at between 26-32 weeks and my nan had her children prematurely too. Has anyone got a family history of it and managed to carry full term themselves?

I don’t know the answer, but if I was you I would speak to your consultant and ask the question, then you will get a proper medical opinion rather than from unqualified people on the internet. There’s enough to worry about in pregnancy without unnecessarily adding to you stress. Flowers

Not quite the same but my mum had me and my brother overdue and I had all mine a week early so it's not always the same as our mums.

However I would speak to the midwife if I was you, they might want to keep an extra eye on you considering your history, (which isn't a bad thing you might very well be overdue!)

My Dm had twins at 30 weeks (1989 born they are fine now)
I had My 1st DC at 27weeks (2003)
My mother went into spontanious labour , where as I developed a pregnancy related medical condition.
No one else in the family had prem babies prior though

I was born at 34w and had my son at 36w, both sections to avoid stillbirth.
It’s a different world now in terms of antenatal and postnatal care. My son was 4.5 lb to my 4 lb, but at 3 months he weighed the same as me on my first birthday, he’s done so much better.
I would talk to someone about it though, in case there’s something like cerclarge or progesterone that can help, if your mother knows for example why she delivered early.

My mum had every baby early, 2 very prem and I was fully expecting to go into labour early but was 10 days over!

Agree above with speaking to your consultant, a common reason for premature birth is an incompetent cervix, which I believe can be genetic. You can be monitored and go pretty close to full term even if you do have one.
