For those who have had BFP’s, when and how many times did you DTD in your FW window?

Quite a personal question but for those who don’t mind sharing, I’d be interested to hear your experiences.

I have three friends who struggled TTC the first time round and all three are recently pregnant by having sex once in the FW. I hear this so often, people getting pregnant after having sex once and then we’re all over here, tracking ovulation and having sex multiple times throughout our FW.

Is there truth in doing it ‘too many times’ can affect sperm quality?!

I understand nobody can tell me for certain but would be really interested to hear about your FW which lead to your BFP’s (Congratulations by the way ☺️🥰)

Last time I was pregnant (miscarriage) I was doing ALL the tracking. I had the little strips, I had the thermometer, the phone apps, that bastard with the flashing smiley face (which still taunts me in my dreams). We hit on ovulation day and went at it like rabbits. My husband could barely walk when I was done with him. 7 times in 3 days. Around 11 days later I got my BFP.

This was unique for us as my cycle is irregular and I had been told that my fertility is "inexplicably" poor.

This time (currently 18 weeks pregnant) I had thrown away all the sticks, apps, pissing pots, thermometers etc. I did it in a fit of tears. I declared that it was "over" and we stopped "trying". We didn't use any protection but as far as I was concerned, with my shitty cycle, without all of that stuff it would be impossible.

A few weeks later, I got my BFP. Counted backwards and it appeared to be timed with a weekend we'd been a bit randy and got down to business a couple of times.

I've been pregnant 4 times and always fell on the month we were trying. I used clear blue ovulation tests and DTD all across the FW (every day), and twice a day in the most fertile days + the day after ovulation xx

I am truly amazed that people have seen a bfp with dtd just once I didn't even think that's possible hahaha

Doctors say that the average trying period is around 3-12 months, and that you can dtd every day & a half/2days during the fertile window, so it may take some time :) Good luck to everyone trying

Both times I've been pregnant I've not tracked ovulation any further than my app. No OPK's, temping etc and we DTD once each time during the FW and caught pregnant. To add to the mix my hubby only has one testicle, so possibly less sperm being made too. I realise how incredibly lucky we are though.

One of the reasons doctors advise having sex every couple of days is because they also advise against using OPKs. Regular sex covers your bases but some women’s fertile period will be more obvious than others.

Plus conception does involve luck. There’s so much that has to go right each cycle, getting some sperm up there isn’t even half of it.

We DTD every other day throughout the month. Fertile window is supposed to be 6 days so DTD 3 times.

Currently 11+4 and only did it once, two days before ovulation (going by LH surge).

Twice.
DTD on cd13 and 15 (peak opk) ovulated day 16 or 17.

Had been trying well over a year.

We found if dtd too much there wasn't enough sperm to last the window so held off until near expected ovulation date to have more there at the first time dtd. Previously we usually had at least 3-4 times dtd starting day 9, 10 or 11.

Every other day at least, or every day.

A lot of people get pregnant on the one go, but that definitely wasn't me and it took us some time.

It is better for a male to ejaculate often as it keeps his sperm fresh.

Used the clear blue smiley face ovulation tests, we dtd everyday there was a flashing smiley then the day of the solid smiley. Positive test 10 days later!
First pregnancy I used cheap ovulation tests and found them a little confusing

Baby 1- tried every day in the fertile / ovulation week
Baby 2- as above
Baby 3- once in the fertile window
Baby 4 - once 3 days before ovulation
All conceived first month of trying

2 days before ovulation, on ovulation and 2 days after so 3 times in total

Twice. Day before ovulation and 2 days before ovulation

Pregnancy 1 (mmc) - day before ovulation and day of ovulation

Pregnancy 2 (resulted in my dd) - day before ovulation and twice on day of ovulation

Neither times were many at all, however, each pregnancy took 8 months to conceive so we dtd A LOT over a 16 month period with only 5 times resulting in a pregnancy

Dd1 - 3times. Dd2/ds- twice (the week after I should have ovulated 😂)
