Does anyone else have this/ know what can cause it ? I have raised it several times at my appointments as frankly find it tiring how much water I need to drink , even at night which is not normal for me. So far today i counted I’ve had over 4 litres of water and will want more later 😬 and bored of needing a pee too!
I’m 27 weeks x

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I have this! I'm 25 weeks and waiting for my diabetes test but I get soooo thirsty. Especially in the night - and my mouth is really dry. I'd be curious to know why this is too!

JuneySunshine · 18/01/2022 17:25

And me! No idea what it is, but I wake up with such a disgustingly dry mouth about three times a night.

SnowdropFox · 18/01/2022 18:35

I need all the ice cold water I can since early on this pregnancy. No g diabetes either!

Wildrobin · 18/01/2022 18:47

Do you all need a pee tiring amounts too? I normally have a bladder of steel but with the amount I’m drinking it’s relentless.
I hope your kind replies mean it can be normal . My first two pregnancies weren’t like this at all that I remember!

Yes! The peeing every 10 minutes is the worse part! It's reassuring to know I'm not alone in this - I assume it's normal and our hormones just running wild!

Bobbybobbins · 18/01/2022 19:42

Yes I had this! Isn't it something to do with your body increasing blood volume or did I just make that up?!

DottieDam · 18/01/2022 19:55

I had this but starting drinking a scoop of electrolytes in one of my litres of water and it massively helped.

I still wee all the time but I think that's just pregnancy! Grin

Pizzaandsushi · 18/01/2022 19:55

I had this around a similar time too. I was drinking litres and litres (usually I’m a couple cups of tea kinda gal and maybe a coffee so it was not like me at all!). I also have a bladder of steel but would find myself going multiple times in an hour and a couple times in the night. I mentioned it to my midwife because I was concerned and she just said it’s normal and to increase my fluid intake more!!!
I’m now 34 weeks, no GD or anything out the ordinary, and it’s calmed down a lot. I now get through 2 litres a day and apart from when he really pushes on my bladder, I’m able to go ages without going to the loo. So yeah I can only assume it’s to help with the increase in blood/fluid volume and it settles down eventually.

Yea I also have this I am 27 weeks also. Has this since about 12 weeks just need to
Drink so much water the thirst is unreal. I also questioned diabetes but had test and it's fine. On the good side my skin is glowing haha. I am on tne toilet all thru the night as I cannot limit my water as way too thirsty so up every hour or so for massive pees!!!

Wildrobin · 18/01/2022 22:00

This is strangely comforting that you all know what it feels like. I am glad I was checked at the hospital but it’s still so extreme I find it unsettling , and exhausting .
