Pregnant naturally after ivf.

We have our wonderful DS who was conceived via ivf after three years of trying. I have fallen pregnant naturally trying for sibling. I can't believe it! It's very very early days but I'm trying to be cautiously optimistic. What happens now? With DS I was under the care of the clinic until 8 weeks and took high levels of progesterone and estrogen to support the pregnancy. Will I need that this time? Do I phone them doctors or not? I'm just not sure what happens now?

Praying this little bean sticks!

Wow congratulations!

You don’t need to do anything straight away, give the GP a call at 6 or 7 weeks so they can refer you to the midwifery team & they’ll arrange a book in appointment for around 10 weeks & also the 12 week scan.

Wishing you a happy and healthy pregnancy!

I know several couples for whom this has happened, including us! We had no problems but it may be worth calling the gp early to discuss

@northernbutterfly that's good to know. Did you need any extra support? Hope all worked out?

Congratulations. The same happened to us! I rang the private clinic and got some progesterone to support the first 12 weeks, and arranged an early scan. Other than that, it was all as normal.

@Goingoutout123 your previous clinic?

I would call your previous clinic (where you had IVF) and inform them. They know your medical history and so may advise progesterone etc as the PP said. Telling your GP they will assume everything is ‘normal’ when some extra early monitoring may be good for you.
Not exactly the same but I got pregnant the month before we were due to start IUI, I felt safer dealing with my fertility clinic for the first few weeks and having some contact with them, as I didn’t see anyone in the NHS until I was 13 weeks.
Congratulations!!

Yes go back to your IVF clinic. Good luck!

Congratulations! You may not need progesterone at all. I had IVF: two unmedicated FETs with no progesterone whatsoever. Both were successful (so far: I'm 16 weeks pregnant). Most people need progesterone because their cycle isn't natural, but yours is, and you've produced enough progesterone so far. It really depends on whether you have/had an issue with your hormones. I'd also contact your old clinic for the best advice. A GP likely won't have specialist knowledge. The clinic may charge you for any help though. Good luck!

Update. I phone the clinic and the gp. They both said they wouldn't use luteal support this time and hope that my body does it's thing! Feeling anxious to say the least
