She was born at 11:39pm and was weighed about 30 minutes ago, 7lb 8oz! I chose to feed first and she didn't want to stop

@tittletattoo Ohhhh congratulations OP ❤️ This made me smile! And welcome to the ‘Due Date Baby’ club mine was born on his due date which is also his daddy’s birthday I hope you’re both doing well!!

I bet your toddlers will be absolutely buzzing when they hear the news! Did you know your were expecting a girl or was it a surprise? Give her head a wee sniff for me I’m not broody at the thought of it at all

You can ask that the baby comes direct to you for agreed first, but you may need to be pretty direct about it. I had no idea you could do this with my first.

Even though I told the MW I wanted DD to come straight to me, she didn't think I actually meant it, and I had to be a bit demanding! But she handed DD over once she understood I really did mean right now!

The don't have to do weighing straight away, and they can do the checks while your baby is in your arms.

I figure, I'm the mum, my baby needs to come to me for bonding and milk first. Everyone else will just have to wait for a go with the baby until we're good and ready - unless absolutely necessary.

Congratulations! Reading these posts made me well up, then have a contraction! it must be the oxytocin!

I've been getting contractions on and off now for a few days, by the way, so I don't think you've set me into actual labour!
