Excuses for not heavy lifting at work?

has anybody got any good excuses other than being pregnant to not do heavy lifting at work? I will be telling my boss the truth but no one else, I work with my sister in law everyday who I can’t trust to keep it a secret - last time we was expecting she told people behind our backs and to make matters worse the pregnancy ended in miscarriage.
I know I can use the ‘bad back’ card but afraid I won’t be able to act like I would have a bad back.
Any help?😊 thanks in advance!

I think it depends on how much heavily lifting is needed in your job on a day-to-day basis.

Hernia?

hernia?

Do you do a lot of heavy lifting at work? If you do they will already have done risk assessments on what you should and shouldn't do. If people ask just tell them the truth or like you say use a 'bad back' type of excuse but expect everyone to work it out

The heavy lifting part is throwing rubble sacks of rubbish into a 10ft container skips 😅 not so much the weight but the way you have to throw them is is so strenuous on the abdomen. Telling my manager is fine but just don’t want my sister in law to find/figure it out. Hernia is a good idea, I just hate lying and having to act on it makes it seem so much worse too
