This doesn't warrant phoning 111 does it?

I'm 7 weeks pregnant, I've felt a bit crampy all day today, light cramps in my lower back and around the front, lots of little twinges but there's also a constant pressure feeling in my uterus. I'm a bit worried it could be the start of a miscarriage? I think I'm making myself more anxious as with my last pregnancy I had HG and was very sick and so far in this one apart from the sore boobs I feel fine.

It could just be everything stretching and growing.
You’re not bleeding and your boobs are sore, all good signs.

I had a lot of cramping between weeks 4-6 and I think it was just my uterus stretching. I had a private scan at 8+4 and the baby was in there with a heart beat, so try not to worry! The doctors said to me to call them if it was constant for a few days.

shakingmytambourineatyou · 01/01/2022 21:57

You can ring anyway. It's probably normal and they can put your mind at rest.

October2020 · 01/01/2022 21:59

I don't want to be unkind but what do you want 111 to do about a miscarriage at 7 weeks? Even if it is, which it doesn't sound like it is at all.

EurghCobwebs · 01/01/2022 22:02

I would suggest contacting your early maternity unit at your nearest hospital.

SouthwestSis · 01/01/2022 22:07

If you're feeling unwell or in significant pain then worth calling 111 (expect a long wait for a call back).
Otherwise sit tight and see how you feel in the morning.

Whoknowsweknows · 01/01/2022 22:09

Personally i wouldn’t. But I always thought when pregnant what will be will be.

Sounds to me like the usual stretching that the body goes through to start accommodating the baby.

dg93 · 01/01/2022 22:10

I would personally call, or at least call your gp and ask to be put in contact with the early assessment unit.

Cramping is completely normal, but it could also be an ectopic which can be dangerous.

I called 111 when I was around 5 weeks pregnant, went in and had ecgs, blood tests etc and then was told to go home and wait for a call from the early assessment unit and managed to get an appointment within 24 hours.

I had a scan the next day which didn't show anything at all, but did start bleeding. Then had my hcg levels tested over a few days and my hcg wasn't good, so was rebooked in for a scan at 7 weeks but was told to expect the worst.

Still pregnant now at 32 weeks 😊

During the early stages of pregnancy there's really not much they can do, but if your concerned at all id reach out for help x

WhyDoesItHaveToBeMeee · 01/01/2022 22:12

In the kindest possible way, no, it is absolutely not something to call 111 for. There is literally no medical advice or intervention that can prevent a miscarriage at 7 weeks (if that's what's happening, which is by no means certain, this could just be normal stretching 🤞). 111 is for if you need medical advice or attention, which at this stage, you don't.

This. If you miscarry, generally the advice is just to take painkillers and wait it out, it can't be prevented and there's nothing a doctor can do about it, unless the blood loss is so significant as to be dangerous to you.

In short, I wouldn't call, no.

Alfixn · 01/01/2022 22:15

I had loads of light twinges and funny uterus feelings for weeks at the start of my healthy pregnancy, I read that this is pretty normal as the uterus expands and your little embryo settles in, so I used to actually feel reassured by it! My pregnancy went very smoothly and she's 5 months old now.
But by ask means ring your EPU if you feel the need.
Best of luck OP.

*by all means

GeorgiaMcGraw · 01/01/2022 22:17

It sounds like stretching/growing pains. I had a lot throughout my first trimester (I'm now 26+2). Try to move gently, walk around the house a bit, and try not to worry too much. Even if it is a miscarriage (and I really don't think it sounds like one) there is nothing anyone can do. I hope it all works out for you, pregnancy can be such a frightening time x

Flowerbug1994 · 01/01/2022 22:36

@Yebbie do what feels right got you if the pains bad or your really concerned call them. You can go on 111 website and do a little quiz and it tells you what they think the best course of action is for your symptoms. If it reassures you I had one sided pain from 5+5 and had early scans and all was fine and am currently lying in bed at 17+1 with abit of back ache. I know it’s such a anxious time and everything’s a worry.

Candlesoftime · 04/01/2022 13:30

Hi 😘 I had really bad camping around 5-7 weeks, I googled it and I'm certain it was stretching. It was stronger than period cramps (but I'm lucky in that department). I hope that everything worked out for you okay x

theotherfossilsister · 04/01/2022 13:42

I'd call epu just to get checked over, but I hope you're fine xx
