Permanent headache anyone else?

I'm 16 weeks (+4) and for a while now I've had a headache which doesn't seem to shift with paracetamol or sleep. I know it was there on Christmas day and think a few days before as well. So easily 10 days by now. I've taken numerous LFT all negative and my BP at an apt on 21st Dec was my usual 100/60 though I am high risk for pre-eclampsia due to history of getting it but usually after 35 weeks.
I'm wondering if this is a hormonal headache that other people are experiencing?

I got a lot of headaches but no constant ones. I'd be telling the midwife, just in case.

Hope you feel better soon, OP! Headaches are the worst!

I would definitely check with your midwife just in case but I had constant headaches around weeks 16-17 that wouldn’t budge. I also am at risk of developing preeclampsia (that I’m on daily aspirin for) but so far my blood pressure has always normal. The headaches eventually stopped (I’m now 32 weeks) and I just assumed it was hormonal changes, stress, nausea slowly starting to go and all of that other delightful first trimester stuff.

I had lots of headaches when pregnant. Keep drinking lots of water. I also used 4HW as which really works as I didn't like taking tablets all the time.

4Head that should say

I had continuous headaches in my first pregnancy, like you all tests were clear except for mild iron deficiency. In addition to iron the midwife recommended magnesium supplements and together they seemed to help (or at least they stopped around that time).

Yes I had constant all day headaches that wouldn't shift even with paracetamol or sleep. They started at 12 weeks, peaked at 14-15 then lessened at 16 to just in the evening. Weeks 17-19 were then very on and off then 20-24 very occasional like 1-2 a week if I was tired etc. Thought they'd gone but I am 26+ 2 weeks now and have woken a couple of days with a headache that's lasted until I've taken paracetamol then sometimes returned or sometimes gone for good.
I am notorious for not drinking enough so mine are probably now dehydration. But early on midwife said they're were normal due to raised hormones.
Maybe try upping your water intake and mention at the next appointment if they haven't lessened. 16 weeks is early for pre eclampsia but if you had it before you cant rule it out, for how early you are now I'd say just hormones/dehydration though as seems similar to me.

I mentioned headaches at my 16wk midwife appointment and all she said was that I wasn't drinking enough. She said I need to drink at least 3 litres of water/squash a day and tea, coffee and fruit juice don't count. I'm not sure I'm managing 3 litres and I think I would be on the loo all the time if I did but I've upped my drinks a lot and it does seem to help, so might be worth a try.

Thanks everyone. Sorry you're all having the same but also pleased it's normal and not just me. I have a consultant apt on Friday so will mention it there but sure it will be same advice as you guys got about hydration. The only problem is I need to wee all the time so if I up the fluids I may as well move my office to the bathroom 😅
