Any good time to get COVID?

I'm 8 weeks. people around me are getting COVID and its getting closer and closer to home, no matter how careful we be. 7 months seems like a long time to avoid it given the current rates.

My question is simply if I were to get it... is there any good / bad time during pregnancy to get it. And what does it mean for pregnancy and baby at different stages.

I'm double jabbed only (as I was late to the party).

Hi there firstly congratulations and I hope you're ok! I got covid when I was 15 weeks, and the midwife said that the earlier contracted the better. I really hope you dont catch it but its much safer to contract earlier on in pregnancy for the baby. I contracted the delta variant and was lucky that it was mild. I think you're still better off doing EVERYTHING you can to avoid it as of course that is the safest thing to do! X

I had it at 17 weeks unvaccinated and glad I got it when I did -as hopefully gave me antibodies to last nany months (now 36 weeks). It was so mild, milder than a common cold. I only tested as had runny nose and sneezing, and a colleague I'd been near tested positive first. Never would gave thought it was covid otherwise as I felt so good!

Forgot to add, baby has been looking great throughout. Even felt my first kick when I was isolating back in August!

I have COVID right now at 17 weeks and it is really not nice. I am double jabbed but have been in bed for a week and can't see myself emerging for a while. It was definitely more than a cold for me, especially given how weak I was with pregnancy sickness as I caught it. It is scary feeling this ill with a baby and I just don't know when I will get better.

Congratulations on your pregnancy Smile
I had Covid at 9 weeks was unvaccinated at that point and it felt like a head cold for me. Managed with paracetamol, I think it was particularly not nice as I had hyperemisis alongside so was weak anyway. Symptoms went within about 5 days or so. Initially I had no symptoms and a negative lateral flow but my sons was positive, pcr showed we both had it x
