Exhaustion - how to cope?

I am almost 7 weeks and the exhaustion has kicked in in the past week. I have been sleeping 12 hours a night and still struggling to get up / stay up during the day. I am terrified because in my first pregnancy 4 years ago the exhaustion lasted almost the entire time except for the last couple of months, and actually caused me to lose my job (I was "pushed out" by my boss after taking medical leave - they took away all my projects due to "underperformance" and people stopped talking to me until I left - nothing strictly speaking illegal but it was still shitty.) I had no complications on paper except for mild iron deficiency which was treated, but I was permanently tired with headaches and brain fog most of the time. I actually fell asleep in meetings. I have worked my way to a good place career-wise since then and have been in my current role for a year and doing well, good feedback and a raise etc. so I'm terrified of jeopardising it all. I don't think I'm going to be able to sustain the kind of hours I have been working in this job so far (well over full time including most evenings and some weekends). I guess my question is, besides getting loads of sleep do you have any advice?

Is it possible to tell your boss earlier than you'd planned and ask for a reduced workload?

Take sick leave in the meantime as you need to until you feel comfortable to talk to your boss about getting a pregnancy related risk assessment for work.
