Hey, I’m 14 weeks pregnant with first baby and can’t sleep for the pain I’m getting around my ear area , the actual outer ear and areas around it especially during the night. It feels like it’s aggravated from sleeping on the ear, as it changes to the other ear if I swap sides. I’m using the softest pillow possible and now it’s getting the point the pain is lingering throughout the day too. I have had wisdom teeth trouble on and off
, bit they are fine at the moment - i’ve felt the ear thing since I can remember but only slightly and rarely bit it’s so much worse since being pregnant now every night and get much more severe. It’s so hard to get an appointment with gp atm..

Had anyone ever experienced this ear problem?

@Bpats hi - sorry to hear about your pain. Never had that, perhaps speak with your GP…

@Bpats Having thought of it, perhaps your pillow is a bit hard and causing pressure pain? Try memory foam or tempur pressure relieving this may help…

Yes, I get this if my pillow isn't just right! Has to be super soft and also fluffy so it doesn't squash down too much. Maybe try a different pillow? If it comes to it you can get ones with a hole for your ear in the middle!

I get the ear pain too - has always been hormonal for me (around periods, pregnancy and now in menopause even more often). Absolutely miserable. I've never really found a cause or cure and put it down to somehow being related to TMJ issues. Sympathy.

Yes I have this - not pregnancy related and often extremely painful. Speak to your GP but often unexplained ear pain is referred pain from the jaw so TMJ as pp referred to. Try making sure you relax your jaw if you notice any tension in that area.
