Fetal hiccups in late pregnancy

Stupidly I googled (yes I know that's dangerous alone!) about how many times should a baby get hiccups in the womb as mine has them most days 3/4 times a day that I'm aware and I've worried myself. Ive recently had a few episodes where she's been quieter so I've been monitored on a CTG loads and she's been fine and I had a scan for RFM and everything appeared fine. I also had a bleed at 34 weeks and was admitted to DAU overnight and given steroids. I'm 36 weeks on Thursday and have another scan Wednesday but I've decided to start writing down each time she gets them and for how long. She's had them twice so far today, the first was 13 minutes and second ones she's got now has had them for over 15 minutes and still going. I just wondered if anyone had any experiences of their baby having fetal hiccups a lot and if their midwife said anything?

I seriously logged in because I'm 33 weeks and babyboy is hiccuping every day 3-4 times a day. My hubby and I started to worry and googled and it brought up the cord compression thing. So I'm so glad to see you post this and everyone saying how it was the same for everyone here and their babies were fine. My baby moves a lotttt either before or during hiccuping. I think he really doesn't like it lol In general he's very active so I'm taking that as nothing to worry about...I just hate Google sometimes. it can seriously give you anxiety from what you read.

Ds had hiccups all the time towards the last month or two. I didn’t think to make a note of them. However, I understand why you do. Just go with the flow and get seen whenever you feel you need to. I got assessed about 4 times from 28-38 weeks out of paranoia for a seemingly healthy pregnancy, I don’t regret it one bit. It’s much better to get checked for any concerns than to ignore and that’s what any good practice should tell you.

FYI I had ds 3 years ago, pre Covid. Covid is no excuse to deny pregnant women proper care- it’s still very important and sometimes instinct is all you have, even if being too precautious.

@Crazydoglady123 I know this was a few days ago now but was lurking and just wanted to say I was feeling baby hiccups 3 or 4 times a day too, every day from the middle of my second trimester. Midwife also said it was fine when I asked. He still gets them now at 39 weeks but it has recently dropped to more like once every other day now. I think it's quite normal but will soon be able to fully reassure you when decides to get out 😅
