I have reached the get it the fuck out of me stage of pregnancy with DC2… a whoppa by all accounts (no I don’t have GD).

I am due after Xmas and my ELCS is booked at 39+6. I’m walking a tightrope between Christmas, labour and frankly not catching covid.

I want it out. I want it out now. What can I do? What’s the most instant, tried and tested method?

I’m currently bathing in a very clary sagey bath. My sinuses are clear but no labour.

Don’t even talk to me about the raspberry tea that shit does nothing.

@Pitstop1986 thinking of you and your tightenings, definitely jealous that you’re getting something. Can you use those tightenings to then rev up a bit of momentum…? I’m sure with my first when I had a tightening, my husband would rub my ankle (acupressure point) and it would keep the tightening going. Or that might have just been in my head and it was just nice to receive a foot massage in my time of need.

@Robbo1010 I have the biggest Sod’s law of all… Xmas day. It’ll happen right around the time my 5 year old wakes up to open her presents.

Evening primrose oil capsules. Inserted vaginally. Something in the back of my mind says 4-6 but Google to check!!
Eating dates.
Something to do with clove oil. Can’t remember now exactly what - Google again.
Acupressure and moxibustion.
Chiropractor.

I did all of the above and evicted mine at 39+0!

Well, I've just been for a check up and the midwife told me she'd see me back at the maternity ward in 3 or 4 weeks for the birth..

3 or 4 weeks? So I'm going into labour at 41/42+ weeks?! I hope not!

I took it that was her telling me baby was nowhere near ready to come yet though

God how disheartening?! If it helps, when I had DD1 I had my 40w check up and was told ‘oh the head is 4/5th engaged, you’ve got a long wait yet!’ and I felt miserable.

DD born 4 days later. Had a jolly vigorous sweep at 40+2 and she popped out two days later.

Don’t believe everything they tel ya!

A vigorous sweep + a long walk + using my breast pump for 30 minutes every hour or two worked for me with #3 who did not want to make an exit at 41 weeks. Buuuuuut since he wasn’t totally ready to make a move, I had to keep up the walking and nipple stimulation all the way through labour, until the transition stage (and I think even a bit after). If ever I stopped walking or rubbing my nipples, labour completely stalled. It was pretty exhausting… but it worked.
