Bump when baby moves - is it normal?

Dear ladies,

I am 24 weeks pregnant. I attached some pictures of how my bump looks like when my baby changes position.
When she changes position and makes my bump looks like that, my bump gets hard and sometimes sensitive to touch for some seconds (seems like a contraction to me but this is my first time pregnant so I don’t really know what a contraction feels like).

It happens many times a day/night (only today it was 7times). And sometimes I feel a sharp pain of a couple seconds over my pubic bone (today it was like 10x for 1-2 seconds).

Is it normal?

The joys of being pregnant, It is completely normal. Congratulations

yep perfectly normal i am afraid. no nice smooth bump like in tv. your babys body will make it move. though the pain is less usual but it may just be your baby kicking somewhere sensitive. reccomend mentioning it to your midwife

How lovely. Wait until she gets hiccups, it weirs but also magical. One of mine use to wake me up by shoving what was possible the heel of foot in to me, use to be able to see it just sticking out. X

Dear @Bells3032,
That’s very good to hear 😊!
I went to the doctor two days ago because the little one was moving that much that couldn’t even let me sleep, and he puts me in bed rest for one or two weeks, and on progesterone and magnesium for the next two months because he thought the pain when the belly got hard was not quite “normal” as well. So I am taking extra care until things get back to normal. Cervix is perfect and baby is super healthy. It sometimes is just hard to keep the nerves under control.

Dear @Equallyconfusing
I can’t wait to get to this stage!

As I live in another country and have no women from my family nearby (basically only at work and my hubby), it is sometimes hard to talk to ladies that are going through similar situations to understand what is normal after all 😋

I believe that no matter how old or experienced someone is if something doesn't feel/look right no harm in getting another opinion. Just remember MN aren't medically trained people (few might be)

Dear @ZeroFuchsGiven
I was in grace state until week 20 hahaha.
Everybody says second trimester is magic but bleh, not really.
Happy as hell to be growing my little one, but it sometimes gets hard, and painful, and uncomfortable 😅😅 so I would say i have mixed feelings about this stage.

I have exactly what you describe and I asked several medical trained people and they said it completely normal. My discomfort gets worse when I am sitting or lying down. Very gentle movement helps in my case. But I'm also told I'm doing too much with too much stress. But then bed rest sounds absolutely awful. Do you have a midwife you can ask for advice? Xxx

The 'bump' is just your baby inside :) so yea when it moves of course you'll see the bump elsewhere. Its a human inside of you . Its not round like in the movies indeed, specially laying down like that x

wait till baby's foot is sticking in your rib or right on your bladder :D
