Honest reviews of the Doona car seat/stroller?

Really considering purchasing one but want to hear some honest reviews!
Thank you

They are ok for a quick trip to the supermarket around the shops but baby's are not supposed to be in their car seat for long periods of time so with that in mind it's best to get a carrycot 3 in one style pram for your main purchase.

@Flamingosnbears

Yes we will be getting a pram aswell for longer trips out the house.

Just seeing if it's worth the money for the convenience of the Doona as they do look amazing....

It's probably easier/cheaper just to get a travel system where you can pop your car seat on the pram frame rather than a pram and a doona.....

I’d never heard of them, but I don’t see the point. On our travel system and Cybex car seat, the baby is in a lie flat position even in the car seat, going round the shops etc. Surely you don’t want a baby curled in a car seat for any longer than necessary? Ie only in the the car

Barleylife · 16/12/2021 13:16

we got one because we don't have a car & live central city - so helpful to pop out quickly & can be used in taxis etc.. definitely not a necessity but super handy

We had one and loved it. Found it great that we could get DD out of the car and wheel her into the doctors or round the shop without waking her up.

It's not really suitable for long walks though or other occasions where baby would be in it for a long period of time.

I've seen a lot of people rave about them, but at 16lb they're twice the weight of most infant carriers. Once you add a baby that's a lot of weight to be putting in and out of a car, which isn't the most ergonomic movement. And they only get heavier!

And with having to collapse the wheels, handle befitting hauling it into the car you might as well just get a pram chassis out of the boot, assuming you're getting a travel system. I could see the benefit for school/nursery runs etc, but it's a lot of money to spend on something that has relatively limited applications.

16lb?! 🥲 that is eye watering, our I-snug is 3kg which I think is about 6.6lb?
Even that feels heavy with a 15lb baby in it now
