Dating scan/nuchal tomorrow - what to expect?

Hi everyone! I've had a few losses this year, so I'm a bit nervous about my dating scan tomorrow. I've already been scanned twice in this pregnancy (at 6 and 9 weeks) and all was fine, but as I've had next to no symptoms I can't help being jittery!

I'll be 11 weeks exactly tomorrow, which initially seemed early for the scan to me but MW thinks is fine! Just wondering what to expect from the screening tests really, and if I should ask any specific questions?

Theyll check how big baby is, and if all looks well ..
Its dating scan so by measuring they gonna say how many weeks you are , ask if u want the other tests, do bloods ,urine...

It's not vastly different from the other scans you've had, but they will offer screening tests for Down's, Edward's and Patau, and if you want these they'll take some blood and measure the fluid behind the neck. I was only asked to give a urine sample as the one they did at my booking appointment was rejected as they forgot to put in initials at a certain place on the sticker, but you could be asked to do a urine sample too.

They'll also measure the baby, much as they would have done at the early scans but the 12-week measurement is the one that decides your "official" EDD and it won't be changing again after that.

Thank you! That makes sense. I'm hoping they'll also be able to tell me about my booking appointment blood results. The midwife called and left a voicemail about them over a week ago (nothing of concern she said) but I haven't been able to get hold of her since!

I had no idea the 'official' EDD wouldn't change after this. It seems crazy early to tell but I guess they have to fix it at some point!

@deliwoman1 I think for some reason around 12 weeks is considered the most reliable for dating purposes! I have no understanding why, but that's what I've read. Early scans are easy to measure wrong as they're so tiny, and then I guess babies grow at different rates that makes it difficult.
