Hey ladies

I’m trying to find the best hospital near to me to carry out my pregnancy as I live between both st Thomas and kings college they are the same distance to go to. But I’m not sure which one is the best hospital for maternity. This is my first child and I’ve read reviews online but they have all been mixed and from a few years ago and was wondering if anyone has a recent reviews that could help me in any way!Smile

Kings all the way! We had the same choice and chose King’s and I’m so glad we did. They are world leading maternity research hospital, the facilities where you do your ultrasound are amazing and they do so many extra tests to make sure everything is alright and offer an extra scan too

I had the same choice, I choose St Thomas's mainly as better for work. I'm glad I did as it's turned out to be a very high risk pregnancy and I feel like I'm being really taken care of. They have one of the leading preterm birth clinics in the country and their NICU is top level (I believe King's NICU is good too but at one point I thought I'd give birth extremely early and the fact St Thomas's had a full children's hospiral gave me some comfort). I'm in there almost every week to keep an eye on things and although there are sometimes longish waits I feel like they're keeping a good eye on me. I've not given birth yet so I don't really know about that.

I'd pick St Thomas as they are the top NICU in the country. but getting there and parking etc can be a bit of a nightmare

I can't comment on Kings , but my child was born at St Thomas 5 years ago and they really looked after us. I was being monitored due to previous health issues and they offered extra scans , tests etc until I could be declared low risk. I would absolutely recommend.

Both good. I started antenatal care at Kings in my last pregnancy and swapped to St Thomas after an awful booking appt (the midwife clearly had no experience in pregnant women who have suffered the traumatic death of a child). I was under fetal medicine at St Thomas’ and had scans twice a week. My consultant was wonderful.
The nicu at St Thomas’ is also very good (dd1 was there for 4 months).
But in all honesty, if your pregnancy is low risk, I don’t think it matters. They are both level 3 (top) hospitals.
