Hi guys,

Don't know if I'm going crazy or not. I had bad PGP in my last pregnancy in the third trimester, but I am getting similar pains (albeit no where near as bad yet) now and I'm only 9 weeks. Is this possible or is it more likely just general aches and pains?

Not sure I can cope another 30+ weeks with PGP, it was bad enough for the last trimester!!

Ah huge sympathies from me. Yes, it definitely can be the start of PGP. However, I will say that I had some twinges this pregnancy at 8/9 weeks and then the pain didn’t return properly until about 22 weeks, so it doesn’t necessarily mean your pain is going to be constant from now until birth.

Check out the pelvic partnership website. They recommend manual, hands-on physiotherapy and my goodness has it worked. Infact, I missed my appointment last week and the difference not going for a week was huge. I practically skipped out yesterday afterwards though!

Good luck. I had truly awful PGP/SPD in my second pregnancy and because of covid it went entirely untreated. But it can be managed and it doesn’t ever need to get that bad. Xx

I agree with Enwi. I had some sciatic pain/PGP very early this time but actually it’s come and gone a lot through my pregnancy and so far hasn’t been too bad, in spite of some really bad days/weeks with it at the beginning of my pregnancy. Just approaching the third trimester now so we will see if it gets worse again towards the end…

Also congratulations Flowers

Thank you ladies, mine also went untreated due to covid last time. I'm meeting my midwife next week so if it's continuing to niggle I'll mention it. X
