Crying because of nausea and vomiting

Hi guys, this is my first post here as I feel extremely lonely.
I am currently 9 weeks pregnant, the nausea and vomiting started in week 6, along with excessive saliva (I have to spit every minute). In the beginning I was vomiting 6-7 times a day, was extremely miserable but was told I don’t have enough ketones in my urine to get treated for dehydration.
I was prescribed Cyzlizine, Buccastem and Metaclopramide, all of which seem to make no difference at all. Now I am vomiting up to 4 times a day, nauseous all day, I am sick and tired of vomiting whatever I eat, just to be told I’m not dehydrated enough, and my husband telling me it’s “normal”.
I have had enough and I have been crying because of the symptoms and just want to feel better, I am literally in bed 24/7. I don’t know what to do as this is such a wanted pregnancy, but I am so depressed. Please can somebody suggest what I can do say to my GP or midwife.

Only thing that I found helped was to eat little and often. Any time i let my stomach get empty then I would start to feel sick

Have you been on the Hyperemesis Support thread? If not, I recommend it. So much knowledge and help to understand your options (eg other meds) and also a lot of understanding from those in the same position, as well as Lucinda of course (if I’ve remembered mother hen’s name username correctly! It’s been a couple of years since I was on there).

Also rest as much as you possibly can. Honestly, even the faintest of exertion can make it so much worse. I spent the first two trimesters of two pregnancies almost entirely in bed. Might not sound great but it was hugely preferable to worsening the vomiting and nausea

A lot of Flowers for you. FWIW both times I gave birth and felt ‘normal’ within hours. Got more active in third tri and was able to do much more, but just not fully active (so went out for walks for instance, but wasn’t doing things like cooking).

This is the one: Hyperemesis Support

And yes, it is Lucinda Grin Honestly that group helped me a lot to understand what was going on with me and how to get through it and manage it.

Thank you Triflinpud for the link to the thread. Halo

I just can’t bear to imagine myself feeling like this for another 2-3 months, I think I’m already on the verge of a breakdown, and yes the tiniest bit of exertion makes me so tired. I will go and visit the Hyperemesis thread now.

Oh dear, sounds horrible. I had horrendous morning sickness with dd2 & existed on Smash & tomato soup occasionally. I found the sea band travel sickness wristbands really helped & I kept them on all the way through pregnancy because removal set off the vomting & retching. But yours could beyond this. Good luck🤞

Ah yes, on that, just try not to think about it. Easier said than done! But just taking each day as it comes is the way. I don’t want to make you feel downhearted but you’re in the thick of it right now, so it can feel so tough, but some women with HG do find it calms a lot or even goes away later in pregnancy. For me I had it throughout, but it was significantly better by third tri, as long as I was gentle. The earlier months were much harder, but it does pass. Flowers
