When did your morning sickness go?

Currently 11 weeks pregnant with baby no 2. Had nausea with my DD but nowhere near as bad as this time around. Literally can’t remember what it feels like to feel normal, just feel constantly car sick and heaving at every sight and smell.

With my DD the morning sickness sort of lingered until about 16 weeks ish but was totally manageable compared to this!

Lots of people tell me that their morning sickness ‘went off like a light’ at 12 weeks and I am praying for that but know every pregnancy is different. Mentally I’m finding it so hard as I literally can’t function.

Please give me some stories of hope? I am really struggling 😢

OP I feel your pain. I’m 6 weeks pregnant with my second and the morning sickness this time around is awful.

Everything is turning my stomach. I can’t remember it being this bad last time.

Hope you’re feeling better soon op xx

First pregnancy I had sickness and aversions all the way through.
This time about 16 weeks.

newtolineofduty · 02/12/2021 18:52

Feel your pain hun! I'm 11+4 and starting to feel slightly better. Think I was the same last time! C

whiteroseredrose · 02/12/2021 18:56

With DD it went after delivery, sorry.

woodhill · 02/12/2021 18:58

Yes around 12 weeks with each pregnancy

CBB2021 · 02/12/2021 19:01

Thanks for your responses. Today has been awful with vomiting violently. I’m going out of my mind.

@RGinaPhalange it’s been so much worse this time than with my first.

@whiteroseredrose and @RosieLemonade how did you cope with it going on the whole time? Did you take medication?

42 weeks, the day DS was born!

I had hyperemesis though and was on anti sickness tablets my whole pregnancy from 5 weeks onwards.

Is your sickness excessive or "normal" amounts?

Hope it passes soon for you Thanks

Dc1 at delivery - girl
Dc2 around 4 months- boy
Dc3 an hour after delivery - boy

imisscashmere · 02/12/2021 19:12

I'm 13 weeks and mine has calmed down a lot in the last week - I'm still nauseous but I haven't actually vomited in 5 days or so. Mine also peaked around 11 weeks so hopefully yours is similar!

Like you, I also had an easier ride with low-level nausea only during my first pregnancy.

With my son I was sick pretty much everyday from 5 weeks to 25 weeks. It was such a relief when it stopped. Felt like a constant hangover. I found having something to snack on by my bed in the morning did help slightly

headspin10 · 02/12/2021 19:17

Oh it's just so awful isn't it? I sometimes think you'd never get a sickness bug that lasted weeks and weeks would you? Let alone one where you'd have to keep operating as normal.

I went to the doctor with my second pregnancy as just couldn't deal with it. He said 'it often gets worse with each subsequent pregnancy' That was definitely the case for me.

1st time - not good but manageable as long as I ate- ended around 12 weeks
2nd time - could only stomach white bread and coke, pretty tough, ended around 14 weeks.
3rd time- literally as long as my eyes were open felt as sick as a dog. Completely relentless until 16 weeks.

However, I'm currently pregnant again (14wks) and it's not been so bad, weirdly. So maybe it's bit true! Really hope you feel better soon, it is AWFUL.

(I did find this time that drinking lemon water helped..... literally lemon juice with no sugar, diluted 1:4 with water). Thanks

About 20 weeks both times but I had hg and was on meds both times too

CBB2021 · 02/12/2021 19:33

Hi @N0va I would say it was on the severe end of normal but not as bad as what some women experience.

It’s been interfering with my daily life this time which is what I’ve found really debilitating. I feel like I will never feel normal again 😭

@CBB2021 that's awful for you. I think it would be worth a call to GP, maybe give anti sickness tablets a go? If it's interfering with daily life too much then I would definitely go. Also, take a look a pregnancy sickness support, they are brilliant!

Sickgirl · 02/12/2021 19:56

I’ve been the same, definitely worse the 2nd time round. With my daughter it stopped around 15 weeks.

Wondering if it’s another girl?….

IVFdreams2021 · 02/12/2021 20:01

15 weeks and 3 days!

Louloulou123 · 02/12/2021 21:51

I remember constantly googling ‘when does morning sickness end’ unfortunately everyone is different! I would say mine peaked about 9/10 weeks and got a lot better around 17-18 weeks, it’s bloody awful! I hope you feel better soon x

Mushypeasandchipstogo · 02/12/2021 22:09

Unfortunately mine continued all through my pregnancies and only stopped once I had given birth. I used to have terrible stomach cramps and vomiting nonstop. I lost count of the bottles of Gaviscon which I had consumed. My youngest is 20 now and certainly, at that time, the GP wouldn’t prescribe anything to help me.

PurpleSweetPeas · 02/12/2021 22:10

2 weeks after I'd given birth Envy

whiteroseredrose · 02/12/2021 22:19

@CBB2021 I was given anti sickness tablets that made me sleepy.
