CB Weeks indicator - any success stories?

Hi There,

Has anyone been stuck on 2-3 but went on to have success anyway and hcg was over the 3+ threshold?

I'm going out of my mind this pregnancy (5th attempt)... and so would really appreciate your opinions! :-)

I'm waiting on a blood test Thurs to confirm either way, but you know what it's like with the wait....

  • My HCGs looks amazing at 4 weeks - tripling across 48 hours
  • Weeks indicator should have turned 3+ on Saturday if tripling and Sunday if it went down to doubling
  • Hcg would have been over 4000 by Sunday and the CB threshold is 2700
  • Doctors not concerned and say they are inaccurate... i see a lot of comments on this but never a specific successful outcome

Inside the tests... the line was light-ish Saturday and got darker but has been the same darkness from Sunday. It 'almost' looks dark enough for 3+

Wow ok ... So please please ignore my last post if anyone reads this!! I couldn't have been more wrong. 🙈 The person who gave me the blood reading over the phone missed off a 0, and therefore my HCG was well within the tolerance!! In fact, from last Sunday when I started to get anxious about no 3+ I would have been over 3000. . by Wednesday it was 8000! So these tests are absolute BS and can absolutely be wrong!

Had a scan also due to the cramping at 5 weeks 3 days and all measuring well, even ahead. A sac, yolk sac and the start of fetal pole could be seen.

Don't trust Clearblue! Xxx

Haha. Excellent news! I believe the general advice was not to trust those dreadful tests!!!

I think anything digital that interprets a line can be iffy. I'll steer clear of the Clearblue tests! I've got a few of these though, which measure different levels of HCG. Saving them for a bit further on though. And yes, it's obsessive, but I have also had early losses and would prefer to be prepared.

Hey @Kaw10 they look interesting but I'd take with a pinch of salt after my experiences. The clear blue weeks indicator also measures HCG and got it wrong... Part of it I learnt is that HCG is harder to detect in quantities in the urine over bloods xx

How much money did it take before you realised? They're not a medical diagnostic tool. They're an expensive bit of fun and should be banned.

Stop testing and hopefully you'll have a boring and uneventful pregnancy.

This thread did prompt me to check back through my whatsapps to 2014 when I had an ectopic pregnancy which I found out about on a clear blue digital. This was pre even ttc so I was completely oblivious and just bought the best looking test I think. It showed 2-3 weeks at what I now know must have been 6 weeks... so should have been at 3+ for sure. I thi k in that case that probably was the first clue something was wrong, but at 4-5 weeks and judging between the 2-3 and 3+, that's a mugs game (one which I played myself last week!)

Rachae · 27/11/2021 15:32

@gamerchick probs about 40 pounds... Agreed, and testing stopped as we now have weekly scans as they are more reliable. (No I don't spend money on those as I've had 4 miscarriages so they do this for me anyway)

@whatcangowrong sorry to hear about your ectopic 😢 yes I agree, they can be an indicator as they predicted one of my MCs as didn't progress from 1-2 weeks. It's that 2-3 onwards I think.. as I think if your HCG is high then it throws the test anyway. Hoping this thread provides people with reassurance in the future, if they're ever in the same predicament xx

I already knew Clearblue shouldn't be trusted, but I can't believe someone missed off a 0 when giving you your results! Anyway, glad all is well and congratulations! 😊

afternamechangefail · 27/11/2021 19:09

The clear blue digital predicted my miscarriage last year.

This pregnancy I didn't even go near them. They're nothing but expensive anxiety.

Rachae · 27/11/2021 19:12

@Holskey thank you! 😁 @afternamechangefail quite agree! Xx
