Welcome to Easymeasy, PopGoesBang and Nursemommy. Sorry that you are suffering.
PopGoesBang Ten weeks is often the worst time for sufferers. I am glad your mother came over. It is disappointing to get it agan, but at least you are a lot more knowlegeable as a veteran. Did you say that combination helped you a lot last time? There is lots of support on this thread.
Easymeasy I wouldn't worry aout the label. Lots of GP's prescribe the vitamin for t he sickness, and as others say, it's in Xonvea, which was specifically designed for pregnancy sickness. Some on here have tried those ginger root tablets. I think a couple found them helpful, which is interesting, as nobody finds the conventional ginger biscuits recommendations of any use at all!
Nursemommy Sorry things are so hard. I am glad your OH is supportive. It must be very hard doing nursing when suffering from this scouge. Did you go back on easier hours or duties or something?
As you are a nurse, you may not fnd my normal spiel informative, but I'll include it fo ryou and Easymeasy just in case.. Sufferers find that they improve a lot at some point between weeks 14 and 20, or sometimes later. Even those who are unlucky enough to suffer throughout generally are not as ill later on as they are in the first part. A good anti acid can make a surprising difference to the sickness. Kesostix are worth buying online or from a chemists, as while they aren't they best test of dehydration, hospitals take them seriously. When reporting on the vomiting to doctors, remember to emphasize the number of heaves in each vomiting session, as doctors tend to count these as 'vomits' and this can lead to their underestimating the severity of your symptoms. Besides drinking through a straw, here are some drinks that have helped others: full sugar flat coke (if you don't find it too acid), ice lollies, the juice of tinned fruit, Lucozade, apple juice, Ribina, Dr Pepper, soda water, Elderflower water, tonic water, ice cubes, Iron Bru, lemonade, lemon squash, orange squash, orange juice (if not too acid), fizzy orange, 7Up, isotonic drinks, sips of chocolate milkshake (maybe soya), fizzy water, apple juice, Robinson's fruit drinks, Rubicon sparkling mango drink , raspberry Lucozade sport and frozen ice cubes of flat Lucozade sport. Also, pink lemonade , cloudy lemonade and Sprite. Foods of a sort include tinned fruit, cuppa soup, nibbles of crisps and chips, cheap ice cream, Scotch pancakes, bagels and biscuits, potato smileys, minature salty Yorkshire Puddings and slices of melon and mango. Protein drinks have also been mentioned.
buttercuplizzy Welcome. I am glad you have got pre-emptive meds. There is lots of support on here. Some find that they escape suffering badly in some pregnancies after ones with bad Hyperemesis. As you are a veteran, you dont need my normal spiel above about kesostix, flat coke and anti acids.
MrsJdot Many on here improve a while after week sixteen, often up to week twenty. In fact, I have heard of lots of sufferers from normal pregnancy sickness who don't improve until after week sixteen, so don't despair. I am glad the meds are anyway helping a bit.Can they add or replace meds to improve things? Sorry to hear of the pre-natal depression. Certainly, don't try and brave it out alone. Everyone is very supportive on here.
abbs1 and BFPDec2021 Great advice as ever. BFPDec2021* I am so glad scan results were good, anyway.
7Worfs Cheering you on until you can get meds.
Apologies to anyone rudely overlooked.
I hope all is well with Melleebacca.
