Tummy and back pain and lots of baby movement at 23 weeks

Hi I'm 23+3 weeks and the past few days I've been having weird symptoms of nausea (not felt this since 9 weeks), dull stomach cramps, sharpen pain on my right sides and I can't tell if it's sudden increase in baby movements or braxton hicks but does feel like tightening at times. This is my second baby and I didn't feel anything like this with my first (DD is 3 years). I googled and worried about premature labour but also I don't feel like the pain is bad enough for it to be that. Has anyone else experienced this?
Going to call someone tomorrow but do I call mat assessment or my community midwife?

Hi OP sorry you did not get any advice here. Did you speak to your midwife? I'm 23 + 4 and weirdly also had some shooting pains in my abdomen today and backache. They have gone away now so I'm just hoping it's 'one of those things'...

Hi, 23+5 and my nausea is back too! Also some pains, but maybe more like early days growing/ stretching pains. I wonder if we're just going into a growth spurt period or something? It might be something the midwife can advise on?

Nausea back here too at 24 weeks.... sharp pains due to baby pressing stuff...if it lays sideways i cant even move from pain at times.... or kicking me in bladder...its so fun all of it... 😭😭😭

Could be a UTI?

Curlyhorse · 23/11/2021 21:26

Hi everyone. Thanks that's interesting to know others are experiencing similar at 23/24 weeks. I called my midwife on Monday and she didn't seem too concerned unless I have pelvic pressure or discharge would be worrying signs of premature labour but pains could just be combination of braxton hicks and round ligament pain and baby's position. I didn't feel like this with my first pregnancy until 37+ weeks so still a bit concerned

I'd go and get checked out. I was kept in hospital and given medication to prevent premature labour at 24 weeks and presented like whilst it is probably nothing it might be and it is probably worth getting checked just incase.

Thanks for sharing this. I do want to get checked out because pains still there ( not got any worse or frequent though). How long did the medication delay labour for you?

I'd 100% check for uti I'm a couple of weeks in front of you and I'll not lie I left these pains for a few days and then suddenly thought hmm could be uti, ended up going to out of hours docs who basically told me if I'd left it 2 more days id of ended up in hospital due to the pain/kidney issues. I've had UTI's not in pregnancy and for me they have been completely different! As I have anterior placenta I thought the stomach pains were just due to that and really feel like muscle pain but doctor told me this is actually signs of UTI even though (sorry tmi) but weeing doesn't hurt down there but gives me belly ache if that makes sense!

Thanks. I have an anterior placenta too and feels different to when I've had uti before so that is good to know
