Hello. I hope to breast feed but I have no idea about anything to do with feeding (I'm going to start researching soon) but will I need a bottle steriliser if I manage to breast feed?

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I didn't. I breastfed and expressed, but washed the breast pump and bottles etc in the top of the dishwasher. All 3 kids were perfectly fine on this, though I do admit I've always been more laid back than most about hygiene. They're all young adults now and are practically never Lilith anything infectious at all.

@Perpop thank you SO much for that video link. I'm only 16 weeks but keen to breastfeed. That whole breastfeeding series on their channel in amazing.

Not rtft but I breastfed, never pumped and never needed (or owned) a steriliser or any bottles.

No. The hospital said that a dishwasher hot wash was fine for expressed milk.

No. I've breastfed nearly one year old DD from birth and she's never had a bottle, so in our case no need to use it.

I did express a little using a Haaka, which went in the freezer in case of emergencies and was never used! I just boiled things (the pump and storage for the milk) the few times I needed to clean them (on the advice of the midwife).

If you're planning to do a lot of expressing to feed then I imagine it would be useful. Otherwise, spend the money on something else!
