The smock type smile is great and Sainsburies sell them so cheap I was thinking just go up in size leggins and smock dress/tops all the way through.

I've only managed to find 2 pairs of maternity trousers that I like, and maternity jeans llok awful. My MIL has put elastic intot he waist of my suits (I have to wear for work) and my normal jeans and they should last me provided my backside doesn't expand (here's hoping...!). But tops wise, I agree with others comments - normal clothes just aren't proprtioned right and all my smock type things look daft as they're too short (I'm 6 months ish now).

I hope so! I looked at mat jeans but they were either hideous or too expensive. So I am wearing my normal jeans with a black scarf (thin material)(M&S £12ish) tied around the top - seems to working so far and I think it looks quite funky! I have bought 2 skirts from Boden, which have stretchy waist bands and are v comfortable but will be usefull when I'm back to normal size, + a long tunic and two long jumpers which are all nice and fit. I am getting quite bored of being in the same clothes though, may have to get something sparkly for christmas!

I bought a couple of items of mat wear last time around from online sales, but only as an extravagance. The rest of the time I just wore elasticated trousers and tops a couple of sizes too big. This time around I've got lots of cheap smock tops and they're great so far! I've got some mat jeans for work but the buttons where you tighten/loosen the elastic tends to dig in and the jeans fall down. I hate them!! Wish I could live in my tracksuit.

Mat clothes are ridiculously expensive, but if you look in the bargain/sale section of the usual websites, you might find some stuff worth getting. But I'm really cheap when it comes to clothes, especially something you'll only wear for a few months.

I managed it, but DD was 2 months early.

I got through with only a couple of maternity things - for a wedding and just for the last few weeks when I had to wear a dress otherwise Greenpeace would have just kept trying to guide me back out to sea

However my tip is Topshop tall range of t shirts - four inches longer than regular - covered my bump - now I wear them as dresses. V Cheap, lots of colours, and they wash up well.

Oh and splash on some decent maternity/breastfeeding bras, money on decent upholstery is never wasted.

I did with dd, I wore combats and vests all theway through, with ds I went from my normal size 12 to maternity clothes at about 3months, this time round I was a 14 when I got pg and in maternity clothes by around 14 weeks.
I can still wear some of my smock typ tops I had from the summer, but many of them were tiht under the boob, and now mine are huge and falling out of the top!
