Early scan confusion

Hi, just wondering if anyone can offer any experience/advise on confusion following my early scan yesterday. I got my BFP on 21st October, though the line was very faint and confirmed with a digital on 22nd. I think conception was 10th October. This should make me 6w4d at the scan.

Whilst there she said the pregnancy was 'less than 5 or 6 weeks' (and wouldn't give any more clarification than that), that there was a gestational sac measuring 2mm and a yolk sac which she showed us. She put a date on the report of 4w4d. The scan was transvaginal.

I'm going back in 2 weeks but I'm so confused and so worried. The dates she gave don't make sense to me as it would mean I didn't conceive until after my BFP? Also going overdrive on Google has shown me that a 2mm sac would be 4w and 4w4d should be at least 5mm, and that a yolk sac shouldn't be visible on a scan until 5.5w. ??

I'm so confused. I know I should wait and there's nothing I can do if it's a missed miscarriage but I'm overthinking everything. The sonographer was a bit dismissive and said everything looked 'as it should' but that I just must have my dates wrong, but I don't think I can have them /that/ out.

Anyone with a similar experience? Sorry for rambling.

Urgh yesterday was just confusing I think. So the pregnancy has grown by ten days which is what they'd expect. There's a gestational sac, yolk sac and now a 4mm fetal pole. However there's no heartbeat. The sonographer said that there is still time for it to come BUT she generally sees a heartbeat at this size. I've to go back on Friday by which time there'll definitely either be a heartbeat or confirmation that it's a miscarriage.

After five days of no spotting I also started spotting dark red blood yesterday but this has really stopped today and is now just slight light brown discharge. Still nothing on the scans to explain three weeks of spotting.

Keeping my fingers crossed but also being realistic - I don't expect a good outcome next week.

Oh I'm sorry it was more confusing for you. How frustrating that you have to wait even longer now! Surely it's a good sign that the fetal pole is there now? If it wasn't viable, would it have even grown to this point?! Got my fingers crossed for you for positive news on Friday x
