Has anyone had covid in third trimester and been okay?

Panicking a little
DP was off work sick today with a sore head. Didn't help himself at all or call doctors or take a test. He texts me at 4.30 to say he's feeling worse and has shivers and sore joints. I get home at 5pm and make him do a lateral flow which immediately comes up positive, before the control line even has time to load up
I have done a lateral flow and it's negative and we have PCRs booked for tonight
I'm 32 weeks pregnant today and ever so slightly starting to panic about any affect this may have on things. I'm double jabbed, had my second one exactly two weeks ago today. However heard of all the stories of women in third trimester going into labour early when positive with covid or stillbirth stories too
Trying to calm myself down a little - anyone had covid in last trimester and everything been okay with pregnancy/baby?

Of the 13 pregnant women who died of Covid this summer in the UK, 11 were unvaccinated. So you have sensibly weighted the odds of survival in your favour by getting the vaccine, OP.
Secondly, as you are already at 32 weeks, premature labour is not the disaster it might have been at an earlier gestation.
If you had the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine, your protection level is currently well over 90%.
You have done all you can to protect yourself and your baby, OP, so there is no point in fretting unnecessarily about what might happen.
Focus on isolating DP, preferably in a different room to you. Leave his food outside the door. Ventilate the house as much as possible (allowing for the colder weather!). Get him to wear a mask when coming out of his room to use the bathroom, and preferably to sanitise his hands too.
You may well not get clinical Covid, but if you do, the vaccine will help to mitigate the worst of it. Good luck, and try not to worry.

@Babdoc thank you so much!
Luckily we have an en-suite and a main bathroom. DP has been in the bedroom all day so I'll be in the spare room and main bathroom. I was in bed with him last night but hopefully I'm okay (and DP as well of course)

I was in two minds for a very long time about if it was safe to get the vaccine but I'm SO glad I did now!

Having an en suite for DP is perfect, OP, it makes it much easier to keep his germs to himself! Offer him food, fluids and sympathy from a safe distance, and tell him to get as much sleep as possible. His immune system will work better during sleep, and avoiding strenuous exercise will help protect his heart and muscles from taking up more viral load.
He does need to potter gently round his room from time to time though, to avoid dvt in his calves.

You will almost certainly have a mild illness only if you are double jabbed OP

I’m also 32 weeks and tested positive for Covid 2 weeks ago. I was exactly the same and panicking. Midwife just advised me to rest as much as I can and drink plenty of fluids which I have done and I am starting to feel better. The GP also referred me for an oxygen monitor which did give me a bit of reassurance. Also, I’m not vaccinated

My partner is double jabbed but seems to have it more than mine at the moment. Although I don't think it will get to hospitalisation

Thanks everyone, this really does help ease my panic. I feel bad because DP is really not well and I reacted badly by thinking about myself and baby first and not caring for him. I was super annoyed he didn't test in the morning like I originally said for him to

I had it at 15 weeks, also double jabbed. Consultant prescribed ten days of fragmin injections as a precaution. Seems this is the norm (in our trust anyway)

Had Covid at 30 weeks pregnant 2 weeks ago (double vaccinated) I was extreamly scared, imagined the worst: I was sure I will not be able to breathe and they will have to take the baby out.etc.. I am so glad I have both vaccinations, my symptoms propably would have been worst.
To be honest, I had a cold a month earlier and it was much worst. I would say the most annoying part of Covid was the loss of smell and taste as I had to force myself to eat and I was worried I wasn't eating enough.
If you have a Covid you have to make sure you drink plenty of fluid: I had 8 cups of hot water lemon honey and least 2 liters of water every single day. Also buy a cheap oxygen monitor from Amazon, it will help keep on eye on your oxygen levels.
Had a privet scan last week( NHS said Covid isn't enough reason to get a scan) and the baby is healthy and growing nicely.
Also, I didn't realised I had Covid at first (I thought I had a cold again) and by the time I tested positive I was already on day 4 symptoms. My husband didn't get it (we weren't careful, had sex, used the same bathroom etc). So there is a big chance you might don't catch it especially if you have both vaccines!

I have had two friends with covid in late pregnancy and we were joking that they were the only ones who could actually get an appointment with the GP. One was double jabbed and fine - it actually made her DP look after her.
The other (the bloody midwife) had said to wait and she wasn't well and we're older (45) and she was in HDU for a while, but she's okay.

I'm 35 weeks and on day 7 of having covid. I'm double vaccinated and so glad I am as I think its made it so much easier on me. I've not felt well but felt like I've just had a really bad cold. I was terrified if I caught covid I'd be really sick. I'm also on immunosuppressive medication for an underlying health issue, have gestational diabetes and a high bmi.

Making sure I'm drinking and resting lots. I'm constantly exhausted buy I'm getting there and feel a bit better each day x

Thanks ladies and I hope you feel better soon!
I'm meant to have midwife today and meant to get my whooping cough jab - she had put it off for ages because didn't know if I could get cause of egg allergy so bit frustrating. I'll likely miss that now too and that adds another worry
I have a scan on the 24th Nov (IVF pregnancy so I have extra monitoring). Hopefully manage that one and get to see bubba. She is kicking away just now

Very glad I made the decision to get double jabbed
