I'm currently 23 weeks pregnant and I still seem to be sleeping on my front. I fall asleep on my side and always wake up on my front. Is there any tips on how to try stop it? I have a pregnancy pillow and somehow still end up the same? I front slept all the way through with my first child. But I was tiny and didn't weigh as much as I do now so I'm more worried about it this time. My back kills every morning because of it aswell so advice is needed!

All I can suggest is just anytime you stir throughout the night go back onto your side and eventually you’ll get there. When I saw a Physio for a bad back this is what she told me to do.
Or you can get these pregnancy pillows that have a bit that goes under your side and then there is a wedge behind you which can stop you from rolling back or forwards

You can get pregnancy pillows for lying on your front. I change position a lot in my sleep. I use a normal U shaped one and try and sleep on my side, then when that gets too uncomfortable, usually about 5/6 am I swap and lie on my front until I wake up around 8. I don't think I could lie in one position all night, so couldn't use the front pillow all night, but it's good for a couple of hours or for an afternoon nap

Thanks ladies! I will have a wee browse for these other pregnancy pillows. I love the U shape one I have but I think I may need another one to accommodate different positions through the night. Like you I get super sore lying in one position x

I'm 21 weeks and starting to get the same issue - I've slept on my stomach all my life till now but it's beginning to get slightly uncomfortable and I'm tossing and turning much more. But sleeping totally on my side feels unnatural and also makes the side I'm sleeping on feel a bit numb.

I've tried but I can't get on with the usual full body, bolster type pregnancy pillow, so I'm going to try making my own soft pregnancy pillow - I've just bought a normal sized zipped pillowcase and stuffing so I can adjust it to how soft/supportive I want. I'm hoping with it wedged under my bump, I'll be able to sleep half on my front/half on my side!

If it doesn't work the Dreamgenii looks quite interesting though...

@iamnotwhouthinkiam
It's a nightmare isn't it! I've been a front sleeper all my life too and Its so hard! Between the tossing and turning, the pains from lying on a side too long, the getting up for regular toilet during the night you never get a decent sleep! Suppose its training for when baby is here 😂 that's such a good idea aswell! I dread to think what the next 17 weeks will bring me. I'm moaning and groaning and can barely breathe already 😂😂x

I'm the same. Slept on my tummy all my life. 20 weeks and still find myself struggling to relax and dose again unless I'm somehow on my tummy. I have a massive u shaped pillow to cement me in place but lately I've been throwing that out of the bed (very very awkwardly) in the middle of the night to try and get some sleep!! Hoping I can break this habit but it's comforting to know I'm not alone Smile

@Blxo94 Oh yes - needing to pee what feels like every 10 mins doesn't help with the sleep either! I think sleeping on our stomachs presses down/compresses the bladder a bit anyway, but that combined with the pressure of the baby... and to think we are only about half way through and it's going to get worse Shock. I had 3 years of fertility treatment to finally get here so I'm very happy, but I had secretly hoped other pregnant women might be exaggerating the discomforts Wink.
