Hi all, congratulations on your pregnancy!

I thought about making this thread as I'm currently 14+1 with my second pregnancy. I've had AWFUL SPD since around 10 weeks and honestly can't believe it's started so early for me already.

During my first pregnancy I developed SPD around 20 or so weeks. I could hardly walk for longer then 10 minutes (I had a pregnancy belt which helped massively,) I was in extreme pain turning over in bed and walking up stairs was absolute hell.
Now I'm going through all of this again whilst trying to look after a 5 month old🙃

However, this time round I've self referred for physiotherapy and have my first appointment in two weeks. I've also got myself a swim membership as the water helps massively.

I feel like SPD doesn't get talked about much and a lot of health professionals are quite quick to dismiss it as it isn't life threatening or anything along those lines.
If anyone else is going through this, please feel free to vent and maybe offer any advice or exercise that you do that you find helps with the pain x

Hello, does pgp continue to get worse and worse? I know there are different strength of it. I've just developed it and have been talking with the physio team and have my first appointment in a couple of weeks. I'm just worried it will keep getting worse and worse.

@M0001 not always at least in my experience. In my first pregnancy it got better at the end but it wasn’t too bad to start with either.
Hi everyone! Hope you all are feeling ok today xx
This is my second pregnancy at 28 weeks now. Last week I could not walk at all - my husband had to carry me from the car to the house. I did get urgent physio referral and got an appointment in 3 days (at least that was lucky Grin) another one this week. She did some examination and showed me some exercise. I am able to get up and walk on crutches. I was almost walking on my own yesterday but it got worse today again
Wonder if anybody had something similar, it’s like all my hips are moved to one side (right) and all body is shifted. After stretching it pops back in and I look straight and able to walk again. She said it could be body reaction on pain but I am not sure about that. Anybody had that?

Hi ladies, 29 weeks here.. and I'm in a world of pain! I know I over did it today but I get wo frustrated not being able to do much! I even took paracetamol, the pain was making me feel sick everytime I moved. I laid down for a bit which helped. I've come to bed already to stop myself moving about. My midwife has referred me for physio but I doubt I will get it before baby comes. She has advised me not to walk for more than 10mins. However my dd school is 10min each way and easier than getting in the car as traffic is awful, even though we are in a small village. Plus then the toddler is roaming free and I have to try and wrangle him. So easier to walk! Trying to rest as much as I can and take it easy, which drives me crazy I like to be doing stuff I feel so feeble. Xx
