All of my three labours started with mild contractions that gradually ramped up to the real thing.

I had the runs for a day.

Then lost my plug early the next morning.

Then very slow labour for that day and DC1 arrived the next morning.

@Butterflyy20
Did your signs turn into labour?

Biscuitsneeded · 28/10/2021 17:48

Nothing except a huge wave of melancholy and self pity because I was 41+3. Was crying down the phone to a friend. Woke up in labour in the early hours of the next morning.

Felt a little dizzy in the morning , contractions began 11pm and were 3 mins apart by midnight

baby girl born 02:26am

I had braxton hicks a lot more with the most recent baby in the 3rd trimester than with our others. I really didn't want to go in to labour as I was booked in for an elcs. I was woken by tightenings in the early hours but hoped it was just braxton hicks and by 3pm had to admit it was labour. Hospital confirmed with monitor and internal exam 3cm, I had a cs late that night (my elcs was booked for next afternoon).

It was all very strange. Was 12 days overdue and had a few cramps that morning. Tbh I didnt think that baby was ever coming out so even then it didnt click. Drove 20 minutes to my parents house whilst having the cramps. Got there, asked for a sausage sandwich and wasnt until then when my mum asked me if I was having contractions did it Dawn on me Confused. She started timing and they were 4 mins apart. Think I was in complete denial Grin

Got to hospital at 9cm and baby was here within 3 hours.

Good luck Smile

I had a bloody show (way tmi) at sat lunchtime.
No pains.
That night slightly cramps
Didn't have baby until the Monday morning by emergency c section due to distress.

Lost appetite, moody, felt sick, went to bed around 4-5pm woke up 4am with contractions, had him at 2:19pm that day x

Nanalisa60 · 29/10/2021 01:31

I was only 24 and really did not know a lot, I phoned up my mum and said I was a bit worried as I felt like I had period pains!! She laughed at me and said you had better phone the hospital your in Labour.

Picklypickles · 29/10/2021 01:43

Nothing either time! I was induced the first time, second time I just woke up as normal in the morning and on the way to the loo waters started leaking, within 15 minutes I was feeling mild period type pains which gradually got worse over the next hour and I got ready to go to the hospital, waters fully went in the car and by the time I was at the hospital I was already fully dilated but he was 3 weeks early and breech I was still waiting for my elective c-section date so it was all a bit of a mad rush to get into theatre!

weegiemum · 29/10/2021 02:08

Dd1- woke up with contractions 5 days before due date. It was a slow old time till she was born 37 hours later.

Ds - I was lying in bed at 38+4 when my waters went without warning, he was born 8 hours later.

Dd2 - a nice midwife gave me a pessary and dd2 was born 12 hours later at 36+6.

Tiramiwho · 29/10/2021 02:30

Going back a loong time now 😄 It felt like the slow onset of mild period pains. I had a post-natal that day ( the Friday ) and she confirmed I was in the first stages. They continued mildly throughout the weekend until, on the Sunday night, I went in.
I wasn't dilated enough until the following day and he was born roughly 2.5 days after the first 'niggling cramp'.
Oh and my waters didn't break until the midwife intervened.

PRE-natal 😄
