Fluid in stomach after section - please help

Hey mums,
Just looking for any advice.
Had an emergency section 3 weeks ago now. I saw a midwife in the days immediately after but because my son is in NICU whilst he undergoes heart surgery the midwife discharged me so I haven’t seen anyone for myself since two days after the birth.

The last midwife I saw said my stomach is full of fluid and I should drink as much water as possible which I’ve been doing and my stomach initially was going down.
Then today it is absolutely huge again. The last few days have been extremely hard so I haven’t been taking care of myself and drinking as much as I was.
Do you think I need to try and see someone? Or if I start drinking as much as poss again do you think it’ll go down?
Thanks so much

I'm sure you have open access up 2 a month after birth to midwife's (maybe wrong) but never hurts to get checked over if you feel something is quite right. If baby is still in nicu have a word with one of the nurses I'm sure they would get some one to look at you x

Thanks boymum I did mean to say but my sleep deprived brain isn’t doing well!
I asked and was told I can go to maternity triage but there’s an 8 hour wait and I don’t want to be away from my boy for that long

If it's just fluid then it'll just take time to clear. Just keep a close eye on your wound for signs of infection.

I had a large lump around my wound after taking my dressing off at 5 days. MW had no idea what it was but I was given antibiotics. Had 6 days of those and then squeezed the lump and loads of yellow liquid came out, they tested it and said normal. All I could think was "normal?!", it's not normal to have fluid coming out of a surgical wound. I had another week of antibiotics and kept getting fluid draining from the wound daily until 7wk pp. Midwife discharged us snd told me to consultant the GP who were not as helpful as I expected so I did some research and ticked boxes for a surgical seroma. These can last a long time so I'm just glad mine sorted itself by week 7 tbh. My 1st cs I never had any issues.

I would see somebody sensible - having a ‘stomach full of fluid’ is not a proper diagnosis and drinking too much water can cause harm. Hope things improve soon.
