Fever in first trimester - is this pregnancy doomed?!

Hello all! I am 8wks pregnant and in a real anxiety spin! At 6wks I had a fever of over 38.4 (can’t remember exact number) and rapid heart rate of 144bpm. I didn’t feel that ill, took paracetamol and fever went away within 24hours. Heart rate also went back to normal next day. Here’s the thing - I can’t stop googling about fevers in early pregnancy and all the info sounds so DIRE. Especially at 6 wks. I’m now really worried I must have suffered a missed miscarriage or badly damaged the foetus. Does anyone have previous experience of fevers in early pregnancy? How did things work out for you? Looking for honest truth not just reassurance. Thank you and sorry for the long post!

I had vomiting and diarrhoea a short way into my second trimester and my son was fine. Sorry it’s not the same but hopefully reassuring?

I called my midwife unit with hot flashes and a temp of 39.4 to ask for advice. They were not concerned if there are no other symptoms and told me to take a Covid test and paracetamol to keep the fever down and call back if anything changed or if it didn’t go away in a couple days. It did go away and all was fine

I had flu at the beginning of both my pregnancies.

I asked my recurring miscarriage clinic about fevers (was wondering about it as a side effect of the Covid vaccine). They said it isn't really considered a big deal at all and I shouldn't worry about it. I was surprised because I probably read the same Google horror stories you have. So I asked specifically about the first trimester. They (specialist and specialist in training) said it is only a problem when it's really high (as in close to 40) and lasts for more than a few days. They said it really rarely causes any problems (the specialist hadn't come across it herself). That reassured me and I hope you as well x
