Basically what the title says! I heard anusol cream and suppositories are good but on reading their product information leaflet it says they’re not suitable in pregnancy.

Germaloids are brilliant. Unlike anusol which as I found out via a nasty surprise, I am allergic to!

Anusol and mine heal in 2/3 weeks

Topsyandtimison37 · 14/10/2021 23:23

Sorry ignore me! I just read you saying it's not suitable. X

My Dr prescribed anusol to me.
It doesn't say you can't use it, it says seek Dr advice first.
Basically no company wants to test a pregnant woman in case something happens to the baby but this does mean no medicine is ever told to us to be ok.
But it is. Anusol is fine

I just take laxatives which has loosened my bowels & reduced dryness by milessse

Xyloproct but no idea if it's ok in pregnancy or not (prescription only)

Sunnybeam · 15/10/2021 02:11

It used to be anusol but during pregnancy I didn't use anything, I'll most probably be using germaloid this time though as I suffered really badly last time.

This sounds ridiculous, but white granulated sugar is amazing. You can use a little water based lube or even better, instillagel (if you are through the first trimester), to help the sugar stick, and apply it directly to the haemmerhoids. Usually shrinks them down within 48 hours.

My doctor has prescribed me anusol. I did query whether it's safe in pregnancy and she said absolutely. The leaflet just says check with a doctor, not that pregnant women can't use it. She said it's just the company being cautious. Could you get a telephone appointment or something with the GP just to check?

Velvetscrunchy · 15/10/2021 08:17

This is great! I will check with my GP and get on this. Thank you!

@MaudebeGonne Not sure about the mess the sugar would make!

@haidri I’m past that point unfortunately, the damage is done Blush

Something called herbaceous hemorrhoids ointment, I found on Amazon. Brilliant stuff.

Ice. It’ll shrink them down. Lie on your side, wrap in a sandwich bag and then tissue on top of that. You can’t leave it on too long, but use it intermittently.
