TMI awful pregnancy symptom

I'm 24 weeks and this is going to sound awful but I really hope someone else has experienced this and it's not just me.

For the last few weeks I've had a really sweaty vagina.. so much that my pants would be damp at the end of the day and I'm getting so conscious that I smell. I have never ever had this before and always so conscious about smells etc

I shower morning and evening and really am very clean I just don't know what I can do.

Is it safe to use talc down there?

Quite normal, discharge can increase in pregnancy and hormones can make you sweat a bit more than usual. I had it with my 2nd pregnancy, not much can really prevent it unfortunately, I didn't use talc but I can't think of a reason why it wouldn't be fine, maybe check with your Midwife just in case. I wore small panty liners that I could quickly change when it felt uncomfortable, it did help with the sweaty feeling.
I didn't notice any odors, even asked my partner who said he'd not noticed any so don't worry about it too much.

I use sanitary towels.

Is this your first?
could be leaking urine if your pelvic floor muscles are a bit weaker too.

I'm currently suffering from the safe thing but I'm under a consultant. They've advised me to not use powder as it increases likelihood of thrush. Before this advice I was using it & got a really nasty thrush TMI sorry! But yeah do avoid powder & just wear breathable cotton pants with a pad if possible.

Avoid thick clothing as your hormones are already all over the place, and thick clothing won't help at night x

*same thing

Yes same here. As PP I use a non scented pantelleria and chsnge it during the day as needed. Don't think mine is helped by the fact I wear leggings constantly, sit down a lot for work and am bloody boiling all the time.

*panty liner

Please don't use talc down there, or at all any time for that matter!

bmwl · 15/10/2021 07:17

Thanks everyone for your replies. I'll avoid the talc. I too sit down a lot in work currently on a leather chair so I don't think that helps. Might look into bringing a cushion to try and stop my arse from overheating!
Will try the pantyliners and hope it helps.
Between this and restless legs, who knew these were awful symptoms no one talks about!

I'd probably use reusable panty liners without plastic in case that makes it worse.
I got some from luxury moon but plenty of places sell them

Also if it makes you feel better your sense of smell is heightened but as long as you keep reasonably fresh (I don't mean those feminine washes!) it won't be noticeable to others.
