So I'm going in for an ELCS on the 25/10 and finally got round to packing mine and baby's bags today Smile

I've been warned that when my DH comes to visit he won't be allowed to leave the ward between 10am and 8pm, so I'm going to put together a shopping bag of savoury/sweet snacks to leave in the car so he can just grab a handful of things out on the morning and grab a fresh sandwich from the hospital shop on the way up to the ward.

I've thought of crisps/chocolate bars/flapjacks/bottled drinks, but anyone else think of anything more exciting I can stick in there? Or anyone got a better idea of how to go about it? We'll have a couple of DC at home still so I know he won't prioritise packing himself some food on the morning, trying to plan ahead to make it easier.

You sound lovely :)
He's going to need things that give him energy!
Popcorn, nuts, dried fruit. Can you get a little cooler bag and maybe put some sausage rolls and little packets of chicken in as well?
Cereal bars are always good too.

@Phon3afri3nd aw thank you! Smile I was expecting people to pile on and ask why he's not capable of sorting his own food ha! It just seems silly not to organise it now while I have some time (and I'll no doubt eat some of it too Wink)

Some great ideas there that I hadn't thought of!

Not very inspiring but things you just add water to like porridge/noodles. I did exactly the same for OH because he's wonderful and I knew he wouldn't leave me to go and buy a sandwich or pack fresh for himself on the day and would end up starving!! Getting hot water on the ward was no problem. I just asked for me but I don't think it would have been an issue. Means you don't need to worry about cool bags etc.

Protein bars are good.

My DH did an extended fast when I was in hospital, saved on hassle.

When I gave birth in March, DP was allowed to stay overnight (all postnatal rooms are private rooms at my hospital) and was advised to bring pot noodles/pasta pots- the staff brought a jug of boiling water when they brought tea/coffee.

Noodles and pasta pots are fantastic suggestions! I never would have thought of anything like that but makes so much sense Smile

Thank you all, really appreciate the help.
