Evening sickness and brushing teeth

Hello everyone. I'm roughly 9 to 10 weeks along, and for the last two weeks I have been graced with the gift of all-day-nausea.

Unfortunately in recent days, while it seems to have lessened in the mornings and during the day, it's kicked up a gear in the evenings.

Mostly it's the thought or sight of food that causes stomach flips, "will-i-won't-i-be-sick" moments and just all round waves of nausea. But it seems the biggest trigger is brushing my teeth....which isn't great. 🤦🏼‍♀️

Has anyone experienced this? Does anyone have any tips and tricks to share?

I get this too and I’ve tried to brush and bear it. I know that there are different flavoured toothpastes available, if the mint is triggering, but I haven’t tried any yet.

I tend to brush, throw up, and rinse with mouthwash which doesn’t seem to trigger me in the same way.

I had this for ages in my first trimester and still occasionally in my second.
I found that there were specific areas in my mouth that actually made my throw up so I was really slow and gentle there (my lower back teeth) when brushing, but I also had to switch toothpastes because mine made me nauseous.
I held my thumb inside my fist when brushing my teeth because I read online it suppresses your gag relax, it helped a bit.
I also switched to a tongue scraper because brushing my tongue made me throw up every time.
Mouthwash is definitely a good shout as well.
It didn't all always work but it definitely helped but some days were just worse than others I guess.
Also, when I thought my nausea had moved to the evening in the later part of my first trimester, it turned out to actually be heartburn/acid reflux. i'd never had it before so didn't recognise that it was different so just something to bear in mind ☺️
