Reduced movements, when do I call?

I normally feel baby move as soon as I wake in the morning. I've been awake an hour or so and I haven't felt any movement yet. The last time I felt them was in the middle of the night when I got up to use the loo.
My question is, do I wait a bit and see if he moves? Or do I call straight away?
I've been in once before for reduced movements and I'm 37 weeks.

I would phone now, better safe than sorry!

MonkeyPuddle · 11/10/2021 08:24

Just call now.

Username7521 · 11/10/2021 08:24

Ring now. Drink some ice cold water and see if that helps

Givemeallthegin8 · 11/10/2021 08:26

I would still give them a call as you have had an episode of reduced movement, won't hurt to give them a bell

RainyDayzs · 11/10/2021 09:03

Any changes in pattern still ring op.

SheeceRearsmith · 11/10/2021 09:08

Yes - do still call. I had two episodes of reduced movements in a fortnight and the hospital I was booked with had a policy of scanning in such circumstances. Baby moved as soon as I arrived at hospital each time but I still went ahead with monitoring and after scanning they determined she needed to be delivered. She’s now 14 months and as it turned out their worries we’re unfounded but it reassured me. Best wishes to you, OP.

Now go now - I don't mean to frighten you but I lost a baby at 36 weeks last year after reduced movements. Worst case scenario they check you out and send you home.

LittleGwyneth · 11/10/2021 13:36

I think we're all trained not to make a fuss, so it's hard to go against that instinct, but you're not hurting anyone by calling, I wouldn't give it a second thought.

Hope all is well.

Ive been screened a couple of times with reduced movements and both times i didnt know if i would be labelled as a time waster.
The midwives were fab. They all said they would rather see someone than not, even if baby starts moving before you arrive.
Go in and have a check over, it wont hurt.

lolateddy · 12/10/2021 13:43

I went to get monitored, it took the full time to meet the criteria but luckily all is fine. Going to be extra vigilant with keeping an eye on it. Thanks everyone!

I had the exact same thing. They would rather see 1000 people who were ok than risk one not being.
