Stroller bassinet for night sleeping - has anyone done this?

Looking at all the various new born 'essentials' that we are going to need and I've come across a stroller which has a detachable bassinet which is suitable for night sleeps.
Now this seems like a great idea to me as it makes the stroller multipurpose and eliminates the need for a short term bassinet in our bedroom.
Has anyone else used something like this for their baby?

We did something similar but with a second pram. It was great because we could wheel the kid round the house Smile however, when they get colds or aciâ‚©d reflux their beds need to be propped up a bit more.

Congratulations by the way! Flowers

When I had ds I used the carrycot from his pram as that was suitable for overnight sleeping. He was my second and we hadn’t kept the Moses basket for dd.
It was actually so handy they don’t need to wear as many bulky outdoor clothes in a carrycot you can wrap them all snug so I could get dd in and out of nursery without waking him. I used a Moses basket stand next to my bed at night abs in the living room but it was so much easier just lifting the carrycot and putting it on the wheels.
He had reflux too and the carrycot did have a bit I could raise at the head slightly to keep him from being totally flat if I needed to but a small wedge made for the purpose would have been fine too.

Yep, we had to put the carrycot in the next to me crib as she wouldn't settle in the crib!

Yes we used a carrycot too for our daughter as it was much smaller than our next to me crib. It used to be a pain getting it up and down stairs if I wanted to go out but only because I was sore from the birth and we had a very narrow staircase! We will probably use the pram again with this baby, but now we live in a bungalow so so much easier:)

Yes, we used it when we stayed at my parents house to save us carrying both Moses basket and pram along. But we didn't use it to completely replace the Moses basket as we didn't have a separate stand. It was reassuring though given how much they napped in the pram so we could wheel it back into the house

Oh I like the idea of being to wheel baby out of the room without waking them. Ok this sounds like a good concept to me and I'll likely skip buying a seperate basinet and just invest in a multipurpose pram instead.

Now a question about getting baby to sleep....would using the stroller to get baby to sleep (by rocking etc) be a bad idea? Will that set me up for bad sleep habits? I know the ultimate idea is for baby to self settle but I can see myself walking baby up and down the hallway to get them to sleep but if that's a big NO then I'll resist the urge!
