I'm 26w4d with first child and the last few weeks have been suffering with pelvic girdle pain mainly at the front (pubic area). Very painful turning over in bed and it comes and goes sporadically, can make walking very painful particularly up stairs. I spoke to my GP a couple of weeks ago and am waiting for a physio referral, I also have an exercise ball that relieves pain very temporarily, any tips in the mean time?? It has definitely been triggered today by me wearing heels all day....definitely flat shoes for the rest of the pregnancy!! 🤦🏻‍♀️

Definitely don't do anything that you know will trigger it. Mine was so bad in my first pregnancy that I was in a wheelchair!
This time around I've been very very careful to not overdo it.
I dont carry heavy things that I know will start the pain off, don't sit on uncomfortable uncushioned chairs, be very careful turning over in bed. Use a pillow between your knees at night and sit down if you can to go up and down the stairs.
I'm 32 weeks and I've had pains since the past 10 weeks but so far it's not been that bad that I can't do my day to day stuff.
I'm just praying that I make it the next 8 weeks without it getting worse.

Get yourself a belt -

I suffered terribly with SPD in my second pregnancy whilst having to do a very physical job. Couldn't have walked without the belt let alone go to work.

Get satin pyjamas or a nightdress to make turning in bed easier!

I've had SPD/PGP since 12 weeks (now 34 weeks) I gave up on waiting for an NHS physio and went private. My physio recommended squeezing/engaging my glutes whenever I turn over in bed. It helps take the pressure of the pelvis area when you turn, as the glutes are doing the work.

You have my sympathy OP.
I had it and it was horrible.

Lots of support in bed, get yourself a body pillow if you haven't already.
