Hello @Jellyfishnchips nice to hear from you! Nope still pregnant - I am 41+5 today so maybe tonight is the night eh?
The messages are too much. My FIL just messaged me 'How's the bump?'. I just deleted it and won't be replying until after our baby is here.
I have the midwife coming over in a moment to see what my cervix is saying. It was soft, stretchy, short and beginning to open last Tuesday. So hopefully there's some progress today, and if so she'll perform a sweep, which I didn't want to do but I don't think it will do any harm.
We've had the most uncomfortable sex a couple of times this week so hoping that has made a difference. I was getting some strong cramps this morning. On Friday night I had mild surges for about an hour, 50 secs long and about 2 mins apart.
On Tuesday I am going in for monitoring to the hospital, I am sure they will try to scare me into having an induction there and then. It's the full moon Wednesday and anecdotally there's evidence more babies come around then, maybe I'm just clinging onto hope it will happen spontaneously but I feel it's best to wait a bit longer. I have organised for a final acupuncture session on Tuesday PM and then Wednesday we wait. DH is taking the day off and we're going to go out, have lunch, nice walk by sea and watch film (currently rewatching Harry Potter films) 🍿
Then if nothing I think I'll opt for the tampon pessary as an outpatient and all being well (eg baby doesn't freak out and I'm all ok) then I'll go home and see how things progress, and hopefully go onto have the home birth I want with my independent midwife supervising.
Or it could go in the other direction and I stay in hospital. What will be will be but I still got to hope and strive for the best birth I can have xx
