Does anyone have any magical tips for reducing nausea and vomiting in early pregnancy.
I’m literally just able to drink ice cold sparkling water (which then makes me painfully bloated) and eat mashed potatoes or apple with peanut butter.
Even the thought of other foods makes me feel terrible- I’ve just vomited because I remembered that bananas exist (I didn’t eat a banana, I didn’t smell a banana, there aren’t even any bananas in the house!)

The worst thing is I’m only 5 1/2 weeks so I know this is going to get worse before it gets better.

Any recommendations would be great (I’ve tried ginger tea and ice-lollies, they didn’t make me vomit but they also didn’t really help).
I’m already eating tiny, regular snacks (although I’ve now developed an aversion to Ritz crackers and mashed potato isn’t really the most convenient food to snack on 😂)

Help!

Oh sympathy, I had constant nausea up to 12 weeks with both of my pregnancies, it’s awful.
I found that sea bands really helped.
Other things that helped a bit for me were sparkling water, peppermint tea, and imperial mints. I also found that I needed to just graze on plain food all day as the nausea would get really bad if my blood sugar dropped, so I had loads of ginger biscuits, breadsticks, etc.
Hope you start feeling better soon!

As above, sea bands very slightly took the edge off for me.

Grazing. Really just eating whatever you can tolerate even if it means having a packet of crisps for dinner. I didn't eat a single fruit or vegetable for the first trimester.

Fizzy sweets were the only food I actually enjoyed, other foods were just for necessity.

I went on cyclizine 3 x a day from 6 weeks and it definitely helped, not everyone is into idea of medication in pregnancy but I've no regrets as dread to think what state I'd have been in without it.

Sleep as much as possible. I was in bed by 8 every night and was also having daytime naps when not working. Apart from work I didn't leave the flat for about 10 weeks.

Ditto with the Ritz crackers! And even now 3 weeks after birth my relationship with ginger will never be the same again, it didn't help me in the slightest and I just associate it with feeling awful.

Hi. I've just found the past 24 hours salted rice cakes, dairylea dunkers, salt and vinegar crisps, lucazade, warm ribena, plan pasta with a little bit of olive oil. Having a fan in my room to keep me cool and lots of rest.
I hate having to wear face masks for work, it makes the sickness worse.

It does ease off in the second tri and a relief it is.
I had nausea in my first pregnancy in the first tri and I loved ice lollies particularly Mr freeze tip top. Very sour sweets, penny sweets and fizzy drinks. Sour crisp salty vinegary ones. I also wanted to try pickled onions in a jar never tried them but it seemed appealing back then. All sounds so disgusting lol but nothing else was palatable so what can one do!
Forgot to mention spicy curries.

My nausea didn't ease off until he was exiting my body unfortunately.

I'm 8+4 and the nausea is just getting worse by the day. I've also picked up some of the wrist bands which are helping and snacking constantly, if I go more than an hour or so without eating the nausea gets worse. Go to snacks are salt and vinegar crisps, mini cheddars, babybel, laughing cow dunkers, crackers, plain biscuits like rich tea or golden crunch, mini packs of haribo if I need a sugar boost during work. Im counting myself lucky we are still working from home so I can take a break and get some air whenever I need to. I've also cut down on anything fizzy, I found the bloating just makes me feel like I'm about to be sick.

For lunches I have recently discovered white pitta bread and tzatiki. It is just instant relief for me. Something about the smell being fresh and clean, its cool and refreshing. It just feels like my stomach acid instantly neutralises.
