Internal exam with a planned section

I'm booked in for a planned c section in 2 weeks time and I'm nervous about going into labour before the date. Due to reasons I don't really want to go into, I am not comfortable having internal exams if I was to labour early but how would they know I was in labour to go ahead and begin the section? I don't want to get left to late to have to delivery vaginally.
Can anyone answer this?

I went into labour ahead of a planned section with my 2nd. The supervisor of the labour ward confirmed active labour just by putting her hand on my bump. She could feel every contraction apparently. No one mentioned vaginal exams until I got to theatre. The consultant did ask because she wanted to check where the baby's head was but said if I didn't want her to that was fine.

I have a previous history of trauma involving those bits and they were very respectful/understanding. Hope baby stays put til your elective date Flowers

I had a planned c section booked went into labour early. Went to the hospital as soon as I realised I was in labour (middle of the night). I declined a physical examination when they booked me in, it was very obvious I was in labour as was contracting. My midwife called the surgical team got my epidural, as I was laying on the table I heard them say I was 4cm dilated both the midwife and surgeon were in the vicinity of my vagina but I felt nothing. I was pretty pissed off that they had examined me against my will but to be quite honest you are just swept along with lots of people doing lots of different things to you without your consent to get the baby out (it’s classed as an emergency csection once you are in labour.) Then once the baby arrives it’s all very overwhelming and the moment has passed.

If you are concerned brief your partner to stand up for you. When in labour it is a struggle to advocate for yourself. On the plus side I don’t know anyone else who had a scheduled csection and went into labour early.

Do what I did and live in denial. Had people on here commenting saying I might not make the date etc. I did everything possible to avoid going into labour early. Didn’t go a walk, have sex or anything just in case and I was always within a few miles from the hospital so I could get straight there if anything happened. I was terrified of going into labour. But I didn’t 😅😅 you will make it. Think positive!

OP I have vaginismus and after a horrendous 4 day induction with so many internals, I said never again! I was booked in for a section for DS2 but went into labour the night before!! There were no internals, they just did a section..

This might not be entirely relevant but I’ve had 2 vaginal births with not one internal examination. You don’t have to have them. Everyone seems to think they’re necessary to the process.

They will put a tube thing in your bladder though as you won't be able to walk to the toilet.

With my first they judged that labour had begun from the monitor, not from examination. My second was a planned section.
