Where does everyone buy their nursing bra for very big boobs

I've been researching online for nursing bras. Before I was pregnant I was 38G in bras, now I'm 16 weeks and starting to find my bra uncomfortable. I will get measured but it seems that not a lot of companies go bigger than G when it comes to nursing bras.

If I can't find a nursing bra, do you think a normal bra would do?

What’s your dress size?

Are you a real 38 or an M&S 38?

Either way, get a Molke.

HotPenguin · 25/09/2021 18:59

I would suggest one of those bras that isn't sized, and can adapt to a range of sizes. As your boobs will keep changing. There's a well known bra d but I forget the name.

Following as I also have big breasts.
Feeding now and wearing 38G and think that’s too small.
IME you will need feeding bras OP, normal bras are too restrictive (your breasts will grow during the day) and also not easy to feed without a the openings of a feeding bra.

I was a 36gg/h at the time. The bra fitter told me not to bother as none were good for big boobs.

I just got a supportive bra but shimmied an arm out under a loose top. Wore a lot of vests with a loose jumper or T-shirt. That worked well for both dc when out and about.

Bravissimo

Hotmilk are worth a look

44FF here and have been breastfeeding the past 10 months. I wear Molke.

Imabitbusyatthemoment · 25/09/2021 19:17

I recommend getting fitted at Bravissimo.
My non breastfeeding boobs are small and I’d never felt the need for a fitting before breastfeeding. It made SUCH a huge difference. First of all my measurements were way bigger than I ever would have thought (from an A to an E - I would have guessed a C!) and my poor sore boobs were so much more comfortable in the properly fitted bras. Also, if you get home and the bra isn’t comfortable or doesn’t fit properly they will exchange it. Well worth the paying the money for a decent bra and the fitting that goes with it.

I wouldn't buy anything until after the birth, it's normal for your breasts to change dramatically in the first couple of weeks of bf and they don't always go down like people say.

I used nursing bras for dc1 but didn't bother for dc2 or 3; I found them a faff in comparison to normal bras though it's slightly harder to cover up (I don't give a ).

I normally go up 5 cup sizes and a band size through pregnancy and the first couple of weeks post partum then shrink back over 18m. If you were buying nursing bras for all that it'd be ££££

Polmuggle · 25/09/2021 19:26

Bravissimo, and get measured there too to check!

WeAllLikeVindaloo · 25/09/2021 19:28

Hot milk bras and Freya bras are best I’ve found. I’m a 36 GG

I used things like this till my milk had settled (took months!), but it is stretchy enough that it grows and shrinks with your breasts, rather than getting a larger cup size and flopping around in it when your baby has just emptied all your milk. Works for pregnancy too, as it just grows with you.

Mmr224 · 25/09/2021 19:39

I was 36jj now 38 or 40k. I have Royce ava bra in wire free and bravissimo wired bra. It's hard to get anything suitable.

BalladOfBarryAndFreda · 25/09/2021 19:45

You don’t need a nursing bra when pregnant, they are for breastfeeding (nursing). You are unlikely to fit the same bra when postnatal and feeding as you did at 16wks pregnant. Any supportive, ideally unwired bra that fits your shape comfortably is fine in pregnancy, it doesn’t have to be designed for maternity wear (though there are some out there). You can still wear underwired if you find non-wired too uncomfortable or unsupportive but just make sure it fits properly and doesn't dig in anywhere.

DobbyTheHouseElk · 25/09/2021 19:48

I got H cups from M&S.

Pinkywoo · 25/09/2021 19:54

If you're sure of your size ASOS do nursing bras up to an H cup.

Mossstitch · 25/09/2021 19:57

I used something really stretchy like cropped tops that you could just pull up over boob with baggy tshirt/jumper so baby went underneath (if that makes sense) as felt less exposed than a top that needed opening meaning neck/cleavage area bare, especially when out and about.

5zeds · 25/09/2021 20:07

Bravissimo, and I wouldn’t get a soft stretchy bra Leyte style to “grow with you”. Bravissimo are expensive but worth the money for the proper sizing etc. ANY bra that isn’t underwire can be made easier to bf in if you just put some clips on the straps so you can pull the cup down, but honestly you can just slip the strap off that shoulder anyway.

sparklyblue81 · 25/09/2021 22:22

Definitely bravissimo- I’m 34J currently & nowhere else has as good a range. If you can’t get to a shop they do very good fitting advice over the phone.

Get anything comfy in your new size now & get remeasured for nursing bras nearer the end as your size will go up again probably x

Blooms210 · 26/09/2021 12:45

Bravissimo 100%. I’ve tired many of the brands suggested above (molke, hot milk etc) and just found they didn’t offer much variety for comfort and size etc. Did a fitting in the shop at 30 weeks for a rough idea and then did a big order on the credit card to get a few different styles and sizes for now/when baby first comes. Kept two bras for use now with good space for post birth boobs to save on cost, and will buy more at a later date if needed but found this was the best option for me! They go up to a J/K in a few sizes, so if your back size is a 38 and you need a bigger size, you can go up another back size if needed as there is lots of adjustment in the backs 😊

ThanksItHasPockets · 26/09/2021 14:58

I wore my normal bra through pregnancy, with an extender from about 32 weeks.

For early feeding I had a non-wired Royce bra which from memory went up to a K cup.

Once my supply had settled I converted my usual Panache underwires bra to a nursing bra.

cupofdecaf · 26/09/2021 15:38

There's a hot milk bra that bravissimo do that's got extra long set of clips on the back for pregnancy (back gets bigger). It's also a nursing bra and can be a racer back. I'm a 36J and it works.
