Hi all
I'm 38 + 4
I have had reduced movements 3 or 4 times already in this pregnancy my first pregnancy was also the same I think I had 4 episodes. Everytime I go to the maternity ward and they put me on the machine the baby goes absolutely crazy which of course is amazing but it makes me look like such a liar and I think the midwives look at me as if I'm stupid does anyone else's baby do this?

My first would do that all the time 🙈
It's always better to go to triage and not need it than to not go when you do.
Good luck for the next couple of weeks! Xx

Mine did both times I went to triage in my first pregnancy. The midwife said it’s very common so I wouldn’t worry about them thinking your being silly.
I’m not far enough along this time to have had to worry yet but I’m sure it will be the same this time round too 😂

The midwife told me the waves used by thr monitoring system actually wake them up and get them moving so I presume this is what happens for almost everyone and if it doesn't that's when they know there's a problem. Never hesitate to call.

Trust me they will never think you’re stupid! I was in triage so many times with my Ds2 and DD. They always assured me they’d much prefer to see mum and baby be bouncing round like crazy rather than any other outcome.

Both of mine have always seemed to react quite strongly to CTGs, sonography wands, dopplers...this one seems to actively try to boot whatever is pressing on her!

I'm sure they'd far rather have someone in several times with no problems than someone not come in and them have a horrible situation on their hands, so never worry about going to be checked!

It is far, far better to go in and see a wiggly baby than to not go in when you need to.

It is far better to go in and feel a little bit foolish than to not go in and end up with a very ill baby (or worse) and a lifetime of "if only I..."

My midwife told me about a woman whose baby was being scanned literally everyday because the baby wasn't moving. The baby was fine once she was born.
