Dettol wipes

Hoping the people of mumsnet can help settle an odd argument - DMIL put some baby clothes in the tumble dryer a couple of minutes after DH had been cleaning the drum with some dettol wipes (didn't rinse, and the wipes were left in the tumble dryer for the drying cycle) ... would you rewash the clothes before putting them on a newborn?

No, I wouldn't re-wash. I wouldn't give it a second's thought.

Rubyrecka · 22/09/2021 09:52

No. But I would ask why your DH couldn’t be arsed chucking the wipes in the bin rather than just leaving them in there!

FTEngineerM · 22/09/2021 09:53

Wait, we’re meant to clean the inside of the tumble dryer?

I'd be asking why you need to use in-environment friendly wipes in the first place.
Why not use something that can be washed and reused ad Infinitum?
Wipes don't degrade (or take 100s/1000s off years to) despite what the packaging tells you.

Also this!

Would cross my mind to rewash. But as with PP it has never occurred to me to wipe the inside of the dryer either.

DappledThings · 22/09/2021 10:20

Aargh. Wouldn't. Wouldn't cross my mind, not would.

PinkPlantCase · 22/09/2021 10:24

I’d rewash on a quick cycle, but I am very anti anti-bac cleaning products at home.

Why on earth are you wiping the drum with detail wipes anyway?
