Hello,

I'm needing some advice!
I'm 22 weeks pregnant and I started feeling my baby move around 20 weeks and they were like little bubble pops throughout the day sometimes more prominent pokes. I feel like I got used to a bit of a pattern with him kicking a lot in the morning and evening. However last few days I've been feeling him less. I rang my midwife last night and was asked to come into hospital for a quick check up - his heart rate, and my health were all good but today I still don't feel him much. I am feeling the odd shift but just not as frequent. Am I being unnecessary paranoid? Is it too early in my pregnancy to be having a pattern of frequency?

Yes, 22 weeks is way to early for a 'pattern'
The variation in movement at this stage is massive. If you are feeling flutters etc then this is fine.

Hiya OP, I don't think you can ever be too precocious when pregnant, if you have any doubts get them checked for your peace of mind. My little one is 5 months now but I when I was pregnant I was so worried about movements all the time too. His routine did change between 20-30 weeks but always best to be on the safe side Daffodilbest of luck x

Hey :) It's good to get checked if you're worried but, as others have said, patterns in movement aren't recognisable until later on (my midwife said 28 weeks). Mine is generally quieter / asleep in the morning but that can change. I think you get more sensitive to movements as the baby grows. Mine pretty much always does something within half an hour of me lying on my back with my hands gently placed on him, which is what I do if I haven't felt him for a few hours :)

I went in to be checked a few times around this stage as I was worried. As other posters have said it’s too early for a pattern and baby May have just changed position as they still have lots of room at this stage.

I remember I would have a few days of regular movement and then a few days of nothing or hardly anything, it used to terrify me so I would call triage and go in to be checked.

If you are ever worried do call and get checked. It’s a very anxious time until the movements become regular. You’re not wasting anyone’s time and that’s what the service is there for so don’t worry xx

Thanks all! Some useful advice there that has calmed me a bit! It's hard when the internet gives you a lot of scary advice - unsure what is normal!

I'm also 22weeks and haven't noticed a regular pattern with movements yet.
