i’m 32 weeks today and i read that you aren’t supposed to sleep on your back, sometimes i’ll lay on my back and i’ll get dizzy and didn’t realise why. i read that it can reduce blood flow, does this mean it’s reduced blood flow to baby? i’m worrying that u could of harmed baby now

It will probably be too uncomfortable for you to stay on your back long enough to case any damage to baby.

It is because the weight of the baby compresses an artery I think. If you get dizzy - I’d suggest moving onto your side but you will likely naturally adjust your position anyway

I understand that this is worrying and I think this should be better publicised. But I would remember that this advice for pregnant women about avoiding sleeping on their backs is v recent (I think it’s been adopted sometime in the last 5 years). Before that women have been sleeping in their backs and delivering healthy babies for millennia. Please don’t worry.
